  • 3.5 diff

I'm looking to drop the revs of the gti gearbox
    Mine has a 4.1 diff

If I was to change over to the 3.5 diff would it drop my
    Revs much?

Is that the best way to do it? I was going to keep the swift gears and the
Same ratios but by dropping the final drive to a 3.5 should drop it a heap?

Any idea by how much? Mine is doing 3900 at around 100kph

    Hi Nick,

there is alot of threads about this in the suzuki forum,
    4.1 to 3.5 in fifth maybe -1000rpm at 100 km/h

switch the final, switch to a gs box and retain your low geared one
    there is many ways

    keep us posted

Theres indeed a lot of information by just searching.

In my personal experience, where I exchanged whole GTI box for GS one, the revs dropped about 800rpm at 100kph. But here you should consider that GS box itself also has taller 4th and 5th gears, not just the diff.

Fuel economy is also much better, for example cruising at 90kph, I get a measured 3.8ltr per 100km.

          goes about 210 km/h in 4'th but in 5'th it's over ...

for next year i'm back on a 4.10 and a fresh engine.
          new engine is done...

Are you serious? 210km/h according to gps? Mini shouldnt be able to do that speed due to being as aerodynamic as a brick. I've got 12" wheels GS box, slightly tuned engine and my max is about 170km/h according to gps.

I am running 13" with 4:10 final drives, and the fastest that I have had is 173KPH - mind you , it was still climbing, and I chickened out. It may have gone to 180, but that would have been the limit. Pushing a lot of air and your luck going that fast in a Mini.

Top speed I do not know, but I think I can reach 200 km/h. At the end of the straight of Zandvoort racetrack I reach between 170 and 180 km/h on GPS. I think with a longer straight 200 is possible. My car has a 4.1 diff and is on 10".

The car the engine came out once reached 210 km/h on the speedo with 3 people in it. Maybe a Mini has the aerodynamics of a brick, but a Suzuki Swift Gti is more than 200 kgs heavier.

mine did that on the speedo...
by gps it's 10 km off, so it is 200 km/h..
at 7500 rpm. in 4th. don't know what the ratio is.
was chasing un X5. over the motorway.
                  new engine is done...

Petes easily hits the stop on the speedo, which reads 140 mph thats indicated 225 kph

it hits the 8k rev limiter just a little bit later.. but too busy concentrating to read a GPS at that speed.. it gets a bit lively ! and I would think is unsafe much faster...

according to a GPS it reads about 3% fast with the 175 50 13s at slower speeds

so whatever way you look at it, its will pull well over 200 kph

thats at 650 Kg (+ driver) and around 170+ bhp

What did you do to get at a weight of 450 kgs? Spaceframed? Mine already gets a bit lively at 180 let alone 225...

So the cars weight is around 570 kgs without driver? I am also aiming at that weight more or less.
