  • Barkston Heath DTA Help Required

I'm strugling big time to get this truck running a decent map on the DTA. Failed its MOT on the emissions. I'm going to try and get it set up before Friday but I'm working away from home this week so I'ts a bit of a struggle. If i dont manage to get it sorted, Is anybody that's going to BH able to set up DTA. I basically don't have a clue when it comes to that kinda thing.

Paul and Mark both have DTA and I am sure they can help but it will depend what you need.

Yep i'll have a look but Mark is probably your best bet if your using DTA E48 on a Honda. Mines a DTA S40 on a redtop.

Does it just need some fuel taking out of the map.

As Alan says it depends on what you need to be done.

It's an S40 Paul. I've taken fuel out the map across the board, and set the throttle stops but it's still not a happy bunny. Lumpy and dont want to idle. I'll try new plugs incase I've damaged one setting the gaps (garage floor and wedge by feeler gauge method ) Might not even be the map but I'll bring it down either way

Did you start from a base map Gary? Where did you get the base map from? The few basic things i found was that DTA is fussy about getting a good 12v and also crank sensors, assuming that a Honda takes a signal off the crank?

Have a look in the diagnostic page whn you crank the engine, you should not see any crank sensor errors when the engine has started (you might get a few while cranking!)

If you are getting a lot of crank errors i would start by looking at the sensor cable and making sure that its sheilded right up the DTA.

Base map was Watsons basic map but that was the problem. It was waaaay too rich and fouling the plugs because it wasn't being driven during the build. I'll do the plugs and fire some injector cleaner through it, and see what happens. I'm begining to think it's not the map thats the problem due to the fact it was running ok appart from being a bit rich. It has a trigger wheel. I'll have a look for faults Paul, Thanks.
