  • How much is your Hybrid Mini Insurance

Thought I would pop this up, as the old one has been lost and maybe a good time to get an update picture of peoples insurance.

How much is your Hybrid mini insurance?

PS I am with HIC and within the range £100 to £250 for Limited mileage on a classic policy(ie. over 25 years IIRC)

I just cant see how you guys get it so cheap.
The renewal was £840.00 but when I phoned up and complained hic managed to reduce it by £200.
The car is garaged they have mirrored my full no claims
              Maybe London is the problem??

Mine is $400NZ (£157 at nows exchange rate) a year, under a classic car cover - so restricted to 10,000km per year. But that should be enough I would think. 26. $30k agreed.

Mine was £1600 last year and £1200 this year with adrian flux (forget who actually insures me though)

Both the above prices are fully comp with a 3000 mile limit. The only difference is this year is I have one years no claims bonus and now 21 so can go down the classic route.

racingmason - it seems to depend on who you speak to at HIC, the person I was dealing with last week was like talking to a plank of wood, they have had me on the wrong type of policy for the last 4 years

I have got a better quote from Heritage, give them a try, the guy I was dealing with was Tim Bishop (a classic mini owner) the number is 0845 155 1575.

p.s my renewal last week was £170 including agreed value, HIC wanted over £300 plus £15 for agreed value
                      I love my mini

My Mrs was quoted £1500 from Adrian Flux, got it down to £360 after a bit of bartering - but still told them where to go on principal - got it for the same at Sureterm - problem for us is our postcode

Just insured my first hybrid mini the 2.0 8v vauxhall with HIC (Highway) (as they came quite recommended by a few people on here) Got the premium down to £258 after a bit of negotiation with a guy called Paul, very easy to talk to and seemed to understand what he was talking about. Fully comp, inc. trackday cover.
                              Quite happy with that.
Just found out it is still mot'd for 2 weeks Result.
                              Tax tomorrow then 1st drive
