My Rover gearbox with the open diff has a pin you can see, not the best pic, but it looks like this:

The Torsen diff either has a solid plate through the middle or nothing at all, I believe the Quaife ATB diff for my gearbox has no obstruction either.

OK Back and a std F18 or F20 Has the diff pin blocking the bore with the sun gears on it. Turned it around a fair bit and it looks the same every which way. SO you either have a Slipper ( atb quaife would be my guess) OR someone sold you a box with the pin and sun / planet gears removed. Looks like an LSD to me. To be sure take off the diff cover and drain oil you will then see the difference and be able to work out which diff. I think the gripper and tran X both have a pin and planet gears and the slip comes from the plated design, whereas the ATB is all helical gears. Tran X is now owned by Quaife to further confuse you Shaun.

after reading your words i feel as you say i have a lock diff also,,the recept for the f20 is £590 it was not a deal i did so cannot authenify it also it could be fake,, thats to much for a f20 but not enuff for a f20 with lsd, in my opinion, so i hope ile be lucky enuff for some more info from others to confurm, hey thanks for looking man,,

I notice there is a small amount of rust on it in the pics, smear a bit of grease or oil over this before it gets worse. Up to you, but that's what I'd do if it were my LSD.

i will do that,, rite ive perchased a mini tank with a 3 bar pump inside,, internal pumps aint my first love but ile give it a go,, the plus side is i get my boot back,lol
who would cover that buteifull spair wheel moulding,, so now ile have space for stuff, fondo set electric toaster or cuddly toy, so i have this petrol tank related stuff for sale ,
