right back to the exsust manifold that sticks out to far for me to fit my rad in a sencible place, so after romoveing the cross bar on frame as sugested the manifold came out without to much bother. so after several weeks of not being able to take it to my brothers workshop witch is realy a masive 12 horse stable block with a seprate room complete with pool table
so i put it on the floor and he looks at it and says nothing for about 3 minits witch is along time for he to be qwiat. he says how much do you want off, i say 2" so he says thats to much, i say why , he says coz the bend drop on the outside 2 pipes wont take it,he is Shit hot and no,s his stuff so i didnt argue, so i say ok lets just cut the reinforsment bit off were it joins the flange
he says that wont work.. i say why.. he says coz the port part of the flange is a flat sided ovel and its exspanded and shaped on a masheen to that shape.
at this point i get PIssY and say fire up the gas set and ile show you how to do it,lolhe laffed i looked at him thinking about a brotherly fight we havent had for 12 years or more, would not help coz he,s 6 foot and hands like shovels,
anyway thinking i said lets get on the computer and ile show you some idias
so we did, i got up a picture kindly provided by matt skid back a bit on this thred, so breaf exschange of words he says he is talking Shit,,
dont take offence matt he didnt meen it in the wronge way he was just telling me in as few words as poss that your lovely manifold is infact 2 seprate manifolds cut up and useing the inside 2 pipes and stuck on each end
so we cant do that as i only have 1,
next i tryed to find richspecs gsi pics but i couldent,
optamistic that i would just buy 1 of them, write down to help, can anyone find a drawing with the dymentions of the diferance between the xe manifold and the gsi one?? i cant and feel like a rite Twat that this is holding me up.
or anyother manifols at senceible dosh, not just any manifold just ones that stick out 2" less than mine, thanks shaun"yuck ,more like a 3 r2"

If you're talking about Matt Skid's manifold, he and a few others have cut n shut, pairing the headers the other way. I checked this out a while back and it is OK to pair the cylinders this way. However I don't know if you need more material to be able to achieve this (doubt it). I think Cooper Mark has the same and it helps to leave more space at the grille.
Shaun, my fanimold is just a cut down version of the std astra gte one, no different pairing and you know how little room I have. I think with yours you have bags of room with just a small chop and weld required. I'll have a dig around on the internet to see if the cav gsi version is different. If all else fails they are only a few £ to buy. Just tell Shovel Hands to get with the gas axe. By the way the stainless manifolds are quite thin.... You need to leave the formed part that meets the flange, then remove sections of whatever you decide - maybe 1 - 2 " and then rejoin / weld.Whale Oil Beef Hooked!

yes thanks they help alot,, matt skids is or seems to be 2 middle parts split and used on each end, as also coopermarks is] i add or apears to be, will reqwire considerable efert
not a big problem but im not looking for horses at the moment just easy fix to get running so i ca get a feel for what i need,,look out then when i join the b,h,p hunting section,lol
the 6" spnoam was a help coz i have a masive 8" and need to loose 2"
spnoam do you have a plan to buy a better one, you will need to if i meet you on the track next yearyou could sell me yours? best bit for you being giveing me a built in handy capp,lol

Geoff ( SpNOam's) is a custom made proper manifold and for that you will have to pay some nice £££s.His is bigger diameter etc. Just cut up the std one as I have shown. You should keep the lengths of all the primary pipes as close to the same length as possible. If you take a look at SBD's website you will see their type "A" design if that helps. They are made by BTB and again are larger diameter.Whale Oil Beef Hooked!

yes im gunna do that,, a note with a lot of chat about l.s,d,s
ive asked on hear back a bit and had lots of usefull input about it but due to car being outside i havent realy been able to play in the sun,
i played a gig last nite and at 3,am it came to me,,i do have a l.s.d,,
