first video I’ve put on YouTube so bare with me haha.

took it for drive yesterday.....misfiring and banging......and bang!! Broke it just as it came on boost!! The bearing that holds the jack shaft (the sprocket that’s connected to the ending basically) shat itself!!! Must’ve been a crap housing. I’ll either make one or buy a bigger stronger one which obv involves a bit of fabrication on the powder coated frame which is slightly annoying!! Ok, very annoying!!!

I think the misfiring is due to overfuelling. Makes sense as it’s a hayabusa turbo map just to get me going.....and they’re 200cc bigger engine than mine. I’ll try trim a vid of first drive and add it too.

dont just, it’s early days 👍🏼 However......help is welcomed!!!!

there we go. Firstly, in gear 🤦🏼‍♂️, and you can obv hear it’s super missing til it’s higher in the revs, which makes me think “over fuelling”. Hear the chatter just as it breaks! It’s a lumpy/different levelled road, hence having to go on and off throttle.

clutch is on/off, so that maybe something I need to look at! Alter the pivot point or something to give a bigger throw!

I can see them on a phone, but a 27" screen is better than a 6" screen.

                  • Morning guys (1am)

been busy with my new arrival, baby Eddie!! However, I’ve managed to get a couple hours in the garage earlier and have made a new bearing!! I made one a few weeks ago, but not too happy, so made this one.

I bought a new lathe too, a 1940’s Kerry. It’s an absolute machine, but trying to collect it and bring it home on my recovery truck was a ball ache! Weighing in at nearly 400kg!!

my auto spark text me earlier too.....just headlights to wire up and he’s finished with it, so should collect it tomor afternoon all going week! Have to pick up some lexan Windows first (decent guy meeting me half way)

ok, here’s some pics! If they work!! First is the first attempt at my own pillow block bearing! There’s a taper in the housing which allows the bearing to self centre, that proved difficult but worked and worked well 👌🏼

and here’s the new one from today

pictures are 90° and no idea what, apologies!

all made from solid steel and 6mm plate! Should be strong enough this time!! 😂

hopefully get it back together tomor! Then it’s a case of drilling the inlet and tapping for a temp sensor, seat belts, windows, and tart up! Oh......and a mapping session at emerald!! They have a massive wait, but I get on well with the guys there so may be able to get an evening session in!

                    Really quite excited!!

                          • Hi guys!!! Birdman, I’m still here!! My littlen was one a couple weeks ago and have a little girl due November! I know I know, get a TV.

so, a lot has happened this year. I’m now totally on my own with my car collection/recovery business, all is going great! Got the Mk1 escort, a little 1974 crunchie I have too (apologies as it’s not standard haha)

                            important stuff…the mini…..scrapped it!!!

joke! Actually was on it for the day yesterday! All glass is in now. Glass. Screen, lexon everywhere else. Holes across the bottom of the rear window, nacaducts in the rear quarters. Slidy in drivers door and solid on passengers.

bonnet hinges turned up today (I have it with a lift up bonnet now rather than welded shut)

took it back to emerald and the original base map was totally wrong. They re wrote it whilst I was there and it’s starts well now, just need to get it back to my mates with the rolling road 👍🏼

it literally needs: the passenger seat and harness putting in, interior door releases (simple), horn relay as it’s clicking, bonnet hinges fitting and retaining latches, mapping and it could literally go for MOT!!!!!! of the map doesn’t work and I’ve not done a good job building it, I’ll take the turbo, plenum exhaust off and go back to standard throttle bosses and map it like that! We k ow that’ll work!

sorted a big oil leak out due to a failed o ring on the external sump drain tube, but that meant sump off 🤦🏼‍♂️

so nothing is painted inside, still bare welds etc, and a lot of surface rust! It sat outside most of the year under a rubbish cover with my cat Nigel living in it!! So it’s mint underneath, but a rough rat looking thing on top, which I like, proper sleeper!! We’ll see how it goes for a bit before a strip down and paint! Anyway, pics…….I’ll try get them in an order, sorry if I’ve repeated myself at all, it as we said, it’s been a year haha!!

                            enjoy,

                            Dave
