Default MPI alloy radiator

I know this has been discussed before, but...
Who here are using an mpi radiator in their 16V build?
How is it working out? Will it be sufficient for track day/daily driving, with a good electric fan, good ducting of the air and extra venting holes in the hood?

I've got one 40 mm mpi alloy rad, and one polo mk2 radiator (the one that others have used with success), but i cant make up my mind of which one to use.
The polo rad gets in the wheel arch and will interfere with the brace bars.
Also, i dont like to have 1 meter of hose extra in the engine bay, which i will have to with the polo rad.
The MPI radiator is a better fit, but might not cool the engine enough..?

Thanks.

I think Chris Burns had one in his 1600 Vauxhall conversion. If it wasn’t him i apologise but whoever it was seemed happy with it.

They have been used,
I never felt good about them.
Maybe it's normal to over think this?

Thanks for the answers, it seems hard to find some real feedback about how they perform. I might use have to test it myself, and if it doesnt work, i'll just have to add one more radiator from a bike or something else that is small...

Please give mer more input, if anyone has experience!

I used the be for my 1600 8v conversion - didn’t cool it nearly enough and it over heated on the way to mot!

Just for info,
I have been road testing the car a bit now, and it has no problems so far with cooling, however i havent driven it to the track yet.
I am running with the hood on, and only about 30% of the radiator is in the grille getting air into it. Might have to drill some holes in the bonnet.

So far so good, at least

I've been using this one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FOR-2-ROW...item1ea5fd546f

Would prefer to have it more in the grille, but no problems so far. Vauxhall run hot anyway.

Nice installation there!

Well back to the MPI rad:

I've been running the car for 3000 kilometers now this summer, and it has been INCREDIBLY hot here in sweden, 30+ degrees celsius the whole summer. Unbearable. The radiator seemed to work ok with stock thermostat, but when doing a trackday it could not cool the engine enough.

I installed a cheap little oil cooler under it (the fit was actually really good!)
and i put a 75C thermostat from SBD in there.
After that i could drive it on the track in 30+ celsius with no problem (but i had the heater matrix on just to be safe)....
