Just put fluid in my new brake lines last night, all seemed well
Checked it this morning to find a puddle in my newly painted footwell ![]() I need a 90 degree adapter out the master inlet 7/16 to an4 Couldnt find anything in this country, found a few for sale on US websites Then I found these Aeroflow orb fittings and they said should work fine, well it's leaking, the inlet port is not quite a good enough fit on the rubber seal ![]() ![]() ![]() Current plan is to take it off and put a copper washer on instead, annoyly I don't think it will clear the roll cage to take it out so may have to unbolt the master. They sell straight 7/16-20 inlet adapters that come with copper washers so I dont see why that shouldn't work? ![]() The American 90 degree brake inlet adpaters seem to come with rubber seals but built into a metal washer, is that the way to go rather than copper? ![]() Last edited by edk83; 09-09-2017 at 02:10 PM. |

if both surfaces are nice and flat then the copper washer is the best option, rubber can fail over time, copper wont.

The tapered face in the master inlet port is convex, I've only been able to find 90 degree fittings with a convex so no joy, the fittings obp supply are concave but they only do straight ones which I have in the other two masters.
Just been out to remove the aeroflow fitting, couldn't get it out with the cage there, even with unbolting the master. Cut the fitting in half so now it's out! Ordered a banjo eye and bolt, copper washers only option now. When I bought the aeroflow fitting ages ago I did ask obp if a banjo would work and they advised against it. Suppose it's not as good as a tapered seal but it should work just as well. |

The aeroflow does have the right tapered face for the master but it's not long enough to engage.
Couldn't put one in now without taking the whole pedal box out so banjo it is, at least it will be easy to position. Banjos seal on the washer though don't they? If that's ok on the calipers then it will be fine on the feed Last edited by edk83; 09-09-2017 at 05:26 PM. |

Well a copper sealing washer.
Yes the feed from tank, most people use rubber pipe and normal clips but I'm trying to be posh with braided. |

The fitting with the o-ring needs a recess/chamfer on the female side to seal and contain the o-ring so that's why it didn't work.
Be careful not to over tighten the bango fitting bolt as they can easily shear due to being hollow Last edited by webster444; 09-09-2017 at 08:34 PM. |

I have bought all my fittings and hose from these http://stores.ebay.co.uk/torquesuk generally if you order b4 4 o'clock they will be with you the next day the fittings have to be made up but once you get the hang of it they're not to difficult plus if you decide to change in the future tell joints can be remade with new olives. The only thing I have done is put a 1" length pice of heat shrink on the braided pipe so that when the system has been pressure tested I can cover all the joints so the nice mot man can't see that they are a made up joint

Yeah torques seem good quality, quite a few of my fuel fittings I got from them. Decided to use Venhill for most the brakes though as it's all dot approved.
