Had few free hours to spend in the garage so I tacked the manifold and downpipe in place.

I'll keep the actuator in the original place, I just need to redo the shaft in Z-shape for it to work. Otherwise it'll poke too far out.

I Know for sure that the whole thing will come around 5cm through the grill. Main concern is that will any of the parts hit the flip front when coming down or not...

Also, noticed today that the radiator is leaking and it'll need to get fixed. Also noticed when i drove the car to the garage that the electricity is completely out. Doesn't help fixing it either...

Exhaust manifold is now finished. Not the most beautiful but as a first try I just hope it works somehow!

Downpipe is tacked together. It'll need some major hacking but that will need to wait till I have time to lift the car up and see how it all fits.

Slow progress but progress anyway...

I opened the TB hole just a bit for the MG TB.

I bought a second hand Land Rover IC for a box of beer. Needs a lot of modifications to get it fit. Idea is to install it over the TB.

First mods done. Most likely I'll make new inlet/outlets and then get it welded.

All the intercooler piping will be 2" OD but I noticed that in the IC the holes are about 40mm due it being a cast alloy. Does that matter much? I could enlarge those to about 46mm with a bit of work...

It's time for a brake upgrade

I removed the ITBs and started mocking up the TB and intercooler. It fits just and just...

And now all gauges are in front of me behind the wheel

The intercooler in that spot won't be of much use I think, partly covered, on top of the engine and rather small. A Toyota Starlet Turbo has the intercooler on top of the engine itself, but with the Mini bonnet there is not enough space.

Maybe put a narrow intercooler just above your outlet manifold using a heatshield. Most a-series turbo cars also put it there.

Dennis

Very nice brakes btw

Unfortunately there isn't enough space under the bonnet if IC is placed over the exhaust manifold. At least according my calculations. Not an issue with clubman front end but it sure is with round nose.

I know the location isn't ideal where it will be but it's better than no IC at all. Most likely I'll made a scooby style bonnet scoop at some point to get some air flow to it and actually about 90% (rough guess) of the core is directly under that hole.

Brake servo is in with some added lightness. Now I just wait till I get my order from minispares including new brake master cylinder so that I can finish the brakes. Then there's only 999 other things to do...
