It's as low as it can be. Already modified the hose layout a few times to get it like this :/

After some driveshaft teething issues (too much float on the Mini end), she's finally on the road in time for the sunshine - pic taken at a local car show yesterday.

So far so good, just needs wheel alignment fine tuning. I've been TRYING to drive sensibly for a shakedown run, but not managed too well so far

Only because I've not done a nut and bolt check since building it yet. Normal service will be resumed shortly

First trip to a drag strip a few weekends ago......Would like to try some slips next time as it was spinning in all gears down the track.

That's useful times I wonder if the resurfacing has helped maybe don't seem like it has when you mentioned spinning in all gears, or do you think it was other reasons?

![]() The first time I went, me and my mate Martin shared the driving. I was running 14.9, he was running 15.0 along with Garv who has never forgotten that day! ![]() I have tried slicks. They gain the most in the 60ft section. You should be around the 2.0 seconds there. The rest of the track, use the max gas you can without spinning. It's all good fun. ![]() I still need to visit again with the Quaife and slicks. Hoping to get under 14 seconds when I do. I haven't done any power modifications. Just grip! ![]() Don't get carried away with these times. It's addictive. People will come saying do this and that and you'll improve. A few grand later and a non roadworthy car, you might regret it! ![]()

The big boys are all posting faster and quicker times on the new track; I went to the doorslammers event earlier in the year and the there were three or four new European records, but that was a prepped track.
I’d be interested to see how much better the van is on slicks and with wheel alignment sorted. It’s miles off at the minute. I can see how people end up turning street/strip cars into fully blown race cars; it’s very addictive! |
