my (dads) K1100 build ( Red Hot )

    Hi All ,

Bought my dad a k1100 head for xmas , also the SC build Manual...

lost pictures of the head ,but most people know what they look like

anyway , dad just doing it in spare time and when he is bored , we had a spare 1275 A+ engine laying around so will use that as a base.

for now , he has got it stripped ,and has blocked off old stud holes in block.

still waiting for someone to send my dad me some long head studs (cough Ardonfast)

Dad created a tool for marking new stud centres , different bushes are required as holes in BMW head are different sizes, ( centre punch )

3mm pilot hole then drilled and then centre drilled to a diameter of .375

Centre drill stops larger drills from wondering , then drilled in steps of 1mm to 5/16 dia for tapping.

two more long studs required (ardonfast ! )
Head now slides over new stud positions a treat.

block now needs boring and onto next stage.

work out what to do about pistons now , make some , or buy some ?

I know nothing about these k1100 setups
My mini has got nothing to prove so nothing to lose

My dad only needs ends to make adaptors for Honda cam pulleys onto BMW cams Simpler to make if you allready have cam / locating slots etx.

Honda bike can pulleys are same as Honda car pulleys ( well mountings anyway )

                            looks really good

have a closer look on the angle of grip for the cam belt. in you case case it looks rather small.
do these pulleys all come from the same engine ??
the 3 big ones look a bit too big for me. how many teeth do the big ones and the small one have ??

they do come from same engine , (Honda st1100 bike engine )

looking at other conversion pics , top pulleys have same gap..
