I had all of the same issues you have encountered. All I can say is that the Yellow tag master cylinder isn't that brilliant really. If you have problems, just get a brand new one. Rebuild kits...

I could not get use to manually turning the variable resistor down. I believe recent Nissans have assistance up to 20mph,or maybe mx5. That sounds ideal, but you still have to get a speed signal.
