I stand corrected on the ECU. It's a MEMS 3.

I got confused with my donor car being a T reg. The X, 2001 must of had the later setup.

I actually cannot see why the engine wouldn't make 160bhp....

It will be a black one on MEMS 3.

I have to suggest going back to basics. Check timing belts, do compression test etc. If there is a fault internally then the ECU tries to compensate for this.
