Hi mate, yeah its not going at the moment if you mean the mayfair project! It is on a temporary hold for a few months whilst I buy and move to a new garage (with a convenient house attached for making tea and stuff)....

So everything is all a bit up in the air right now which makes much to hard for me to concentrate on the wiring phase that I am now on!
I now have all of the components I need in order to make the electronic ignition system work ie. the ECU, immobiliser and related devices to make the engine run.

But like I said I am not going to try and tackle sorting that lot out until I am settled in my new place.
Aside from tidying and orginising my bits and bobs ready for the move the only thing I have done is to make a test dashboard and start fitting bits in around and connected to that...

looking in my photo bucket again here is a rather cool picture my mate took of the mini...

So yeah like I said progress is slow on the car for now but that wont last to long I hope and soon I will be in a position to test run that engine I hope

I have now been evicted from my dads garage as he needs it for some work he is doing. This gave me the push to sort out one or two things, namely removing the "pallet on casters" from the bottom of the car and for the first time sitting it on its own 4 wheels That done I did a few very rough front suspension adjustments in order that it wasn't sat on the bump stops and the wheels pointed in approximately the same direction.

I have also checked that the boot still fits...

With the car outside again for now I invested in a new tarp to wrap it all up in (not that there is to much rain right now!) I have been very happy to see the car looking and being a lot more like a car again, it even rolled out of the garage to its new resting place on its wheels!! I steered it and everything

Seeing it in the sun with its fantastic wheels on and everything really made my day, it is going to be great when its all done (even if I say so myself). All I need to do is sort that god dam wiring and the rest is plain sailing i'm sure.

Something I decided to do today is try the exhaust on for size now that the car is on its wheels! It was a bit of a game getting it to fit on working alone but I got there...

Considering the car is pretty much sat on its bump stops (due to me not yet adjusting the suspension at all) I think the clearance is quite good

Not actually moved yet (wheels are in motion but its a slow businesses) and when I do no its not to far from Oake, I will be 2 or 3 miles the other side of it.

As for the steam fair I wont be taking the mini (as it don't run yet) but we will be taking the kids and popping down to enjoy the rain for the 3rd year running

at least this year we have a 4x4 to get out again.

will you be there?

lol Thanks, he has found his way into a few of my pictures in this diary. He is always somewhere around watching me, I have to chase him away whenever I need to use the MIG so I dont blind him.

They are great aren't they! We have had Ziggy from a puppy and he is 3 now (not that he has stopped acting like a puppy yet!) He is a good companion with an obsession for licking people lol.

Only had him a couple of weeks, but he's fitting in well. Starting to show his character. Unfortunately a replacement for an old friend :-/

Hi, Its not to bad, thanks for asking. Most of my time and energy has gone into moving house and everything that comes with that recently (not to mention xmas) so not much time for the mini.
I hope you are well and I will have a more car related update soon.
