Hi All,

Does anyone have driveshaft lengths available for mini hub to C52 'box?

I'm getting pushed for time now and won't get my suspension together before I need to be getting my driveshafts made up. So I can't measure them.

And, by my calcs the 4age can only go in the subby in one position side/side give or take 5mm. Is this right? If not i'm going to have to measure mine up.

Edit: typo

Your right about the one place, when fitted in the front there is only one place it will go without the wheels touching it lock to lock

Length wise i will measure mine, there is a fair amount of give in the shaft length as the "pots" are very deep

Thanks Daz.

The lock to lock thing doesn't really apply to me - if my rear wheels steered i'd be in dead shtuck.

I can't see my lump being more that a few mm different positioned to yours tho'

in answer to your question

53cm
29cm

These are approx as they are fitted to the car, but there is loads of margin due to the cup size on the box end

Hi guys, I was just wondering, are the inner cvs/driveshafts all the same size or do i need to be looking for specific inner cvs(not sure what gbox it is,the one that comes with the 20v 4age)? Does anybody have experience with cutting and welding up driving shafts? Me and the missus dad had a chat today, he said who ever made the shafts would have to know what they are doing,if its not 100% dead straight im gonna be stuck with a huge vibration.

I have two types of inner joints 1 set from a 1990 AE92 Corolla & 1 from a 1985 AW11 MR2. the shaft dia is the same but the tripoid bearings are larger on the AE92 than the AW11. Yes they need to be running true or they will vibrate like anything...

So basicly any inner cv will fit,you only need matching shafts to go with the inner cvs

The shaft is the same it's the bearings in here that are different I've put a box around in this pic. Teis is from the AW11 MR2. http://i848.photobucket.com/albums/ab49/peely101/Driveshaftbox.jpg

Good evening everybody.

Can someone please supply me with pictures of an engine installation? Preferably a picture of the front of the car with Toyota-motor installed. And each drive shaft mounted in the car. No razor sharp phots needed, just to get an idea of how it looks in a working car.
I have started to collect parts for building a 4AGE mini. Car is purchased (-67 mk1) and now I will contact the correct instance here in sweden and try to get the project approved. That is what the pictures are for.
I really do love the concept of a 4AGE in a mini and as far as I know, it has not been done in Sweden before.

Cheers -Jörgen

Thanks a lot.

I dont think I can finnish the project though. It just came to my mind that all nice 4AGE FWD cars I have seen completed are RHD. And I am building a LHD. Found a thread about some guy from the Netherlands who tried to build a LHD 4AGE and failed. The gearbox is interfering with the steering coulumn (is that the correct word?).
Scheisse!
I have to think of something else... Probably Sukisuki Swift GTi G13B.
