Its fooked

I had to have a look today as to what made it go bang! I found this in the sump :shock:

The sump was cracked so i cut it in 1/2 to make removal quicker :D

I took the cylinder head off as well to have a laugh at the pistons

this is #1 piston It has a massive gouge in the cylinder wall

this is #4 piston, not too bad but it looks of had a knock also

I forgot to take a photo of the valves but needless to say #1 side is fooked.

The head can be saved but the block is beyond rebore as the gouge is pretty deep.

New engine time me thinks it will be the quickest way to getting me on the track again and i will be racing at Olivers mount:D

Paul the block maybe beyond a rebore but what about a set of sleeves, rather then a new block.

PMSL i just read that back :D

Mark I need something quick i havn't got the time to sort an engine rebuild out but i think ive got something sussed....will keep you updated :D

I think I've got away very lightly in comparison to your disaster, maybe only bent inlet valves, the exhausts don't look touched.

No way you'll be fixing the bottom end of your engine if it's got a gouged block ..... although 1mm overbore is possible.
