Been toying with the idea of a rear diffuser/splitter since I saw this on in Miniworld aaaaages ago!

And as i'm having the boot floor hacked out due to excessive rusting, I thought I might as well rebuild the boot floor and incorporate a rear diffuser at the same time! I'll keep this thread updated with the progress of things over the next couple weeks. Hopefully it turns out how me and my dad have planned!

Have now cut away the boot floor, and starting to get ready to rebuild the floor and incorporating a rear diffuser.

The panels already cut and bent.

Below is a pic of a trial fit of the centre section.

And the centre section with one of the 2 side fins.

In total there will be the centre section which will sit higher to allow the exhaust pipe to sit higher up. Either side will be 2 sections that will sit lower than the centre which will do the work.
Should look similar to this, only in steel not carbon.

More pics up when it's fitted :)

Its proving to be a bit painstaking lol. How did you go about flattening the boot floor?

Make sure your diffuser is removeable too just in case Mr MOT doesn't like the 'blades' which you're adding to the underside of the car.

with a big bit of metal like this

we have then sat the exhaust really high up, the lower part of the exhaust is higher than the lower edge of the rear subframe

I asked the guy who does my MOT and he says as long as he doesn't catch himself on it it's ok. We're going to make the edges of the ins hand safe anyways just to be sure :)
Nice job on the boot floor!! Thats a mahoosive exhaust too

And from inside the car.

All that is needed now are the outer fins and to weld the completed floor into the car :)
Watch this space :P
