Hello all, i will be picking a lot of brains while i do this conversion as i have never done anything like this befor,
As you can see i have got my mini van that i want to put the k series in,

the engine i have is a 1800 out of an MGTF with a 1400 box,

it is currentley in a metro so all the wires, drive shafts etc should be there? i also have the breaks front the mgtf so i will use them, i think
i am going with the watsons frame, but could anyone
advise me on what fuel pump i will need please? and any other bits i should put on my shopping list?

everything u need is on the metro mate, it looks very scary to do bt isnt that bad, if u check my build u will see i had no idea!!!! but once u get hands on its not bad and will save you £100sss
u use he metro top arms
The best advise eneybody can give is read ever thread and build diary on this forum and then chose if you want to use a mini frame or metro.

Watsons shorten the metro frame a few inches, geehawk has some good comparison pictures somewhere, have a look for his gallery. Side plates are pretty easy to make, also floor mounts too. If you have a spare old mini subframe lying around you can make tower mounts too.
You will need coilovers and rear spacers if you make your own frame, so the watsons frame isn't as expensive as it first seems.
There are lots of people who have chopped up a mini subframe to use the k, which is what i would do.

Same as above. I've a mini based subframe you can take measurement from if that's any use. Am based in rothwell. It's on a baremini shell so all measurements should be easy to take and see all the problem areas.

Not to sure mate. My later loom does not have them. but the early type might would leave them on for now unless someelse who knows says otherwise. Looks like your gunna have some fun sorted that pile off wires out.

one of the main harness to engine harness connectors according to RAVE for early MGFs...
dunno whether that's any help to you or not?
I don't think its a metro plug as the 13th pin is missing, whereas it's shown in that diagram as being connected.

fantastic thank you, i will just run new wires following the wireing diagram (-the throttle pedle switch as it does not have the plug on the peddle) think it will be the best/neater way, thanks again
