Japanese Spec Vtec Cam Plug Covers

Not content with rushing around Europe on the Italian Job last week, Im seeing the wife and junior in Japan this week.

Whilst looking around some of the local speed shops I've come across several types of plug lead cover that fits in the top of the Vtec cam cover, There are several types available, Ive opted for a carbon fibre type one as mine was burnt when I bought the engine.

I can bring a selection of these back as hand luggage as their not that big to carry if anyone else is interested in something other than the standard plastic one.

There roughly about 35GBP each - (no pound sign on this PC) I'll try and post some photos if I can.

Colin, If you have the chance can you ask if there is such a unit for the 86-89 Integra valve cover? There normally isn't one but I am curious if there ever was an aftermarket version. Thanks JS

Back home now, I didn’t bring any back this time, as I spoke to the Wife’s cousin a (fast and furious type of speed freak) and he recommended another bigger and better big boys toy store, but as I was only there for a 4 days this time I didn’t get time to check the availability of what parts they had on offer as I had an early 7am flight to catch back to Tokyo.

I’m off back in a few weeks time for Xmas, and I’ll be able to wrestle the Smart car off the MIL & have a bit more time to look about at the stores, - Imagine a car store the size of an average UK Tesco's!

I can take some photos to post here – You’ll all be bored over Xmas anyway, so no doubt you’ll all be in the garage or on here by Boxing day, then you can let me know what you want.

Thanks Colin but they are for models that I don't have. It was more of a lark on my part to ask you anyway. My V-cover doesn't even have any holes predrilled for a centre cover like the B16's have. If I want to do one eventually it would have to be a custom one-off job. Although if I did make one I am sure I could sell a bunch to the D16A1 boys on their forum since I have yet to see such a thing. I guess I could enquire on that site if they make aftermarket items for the old Integras?

Hi Colin - only just noticed this thread !! If you see any covers uitable for B18 I'b be well gratefull if you could let me know - either found out if they can ship, or I'll post you some money in advance !! I'm after something pretty plain and simple - either black, red or chrome !

I'm back again at Xmas, I'll have a look then & post some photos on here.

I do have a Type R cam cover in red spare if that's any use to you?

I changed it as it was slightly scorched on the rear where my engine was on fire, I only changed it when I bought one that said Type R on it from the states.
