Shell strengthening

Just out of curiosity - are there any recommended things for strengthening the minis shell - not sure what, if anything, the various other classes of mini racing do (miglia / mighty minis / etc etc) - I'm sure I've read that people stitch weld a lot of the shell, but no idea what joints in particular.
Only asking as I'm restoring another shell at the mo, and might try and fit something sprint worthy to it - no chance of doing it for the forth coming season, but maybe the year after - so it would make sense to do any welding jobs now while its a bare shell :)

yes you could seam weld the shell, it would help to make it more rigid. The biggest thing i think would be to fit a multi-point cage and pick up on everything you can.

The one area of a mini that i've always thought weak is the front bulkhead/subframe mounting area as you can see the front of the subframe flexing when you lower it onto axle stands
