Several months later, after many atempts at wiring up zcars 'plug and play' wiring loom by myself and other people who know what they are doing, I had to take it back to zcars for them to wire the ecu up.

Then final fit, all trim..

Also does anyone know what size rims you need to run 215 wide tyres?

Looks very very nice, but I'm a bit confused?, the thread title is ' home built vtec etc' but quite a few pics look to be at the Z cars factory and they fitted the bulk of the kit??
And you did all the fiddly pain in the arse finishing odds and sods?

Is that how these kits 'work'?

We put the front and rear cage in the car at zcars. This is because zcars wanted to feature it on the 'how to build a zcars mini' dvd thing. Seen as though i live close to them i could hardly say no to the offer of some help getting it put in. We did it all in one day, it is the easiest bit of the build lol.
But even as you can see from the dvd, there is only like me my dad, chris from zcars and another helper. So its not like i just gave it to them to do for me.

Looks amazing, love the quality of the Z cars stuff, seen a few at kitcar shows.

Like the mk 1 touches 8) doing something similar myself, what did you use for channel to make your side windows slide?

shame to paint over cf but if its discoloured guess its the only way. sweet looking build all the same. Well done. Wish i had the cash. :(

Got the runners from mini spares, did not fit the doors, obviously fiber glass is thicker that steel. lots of cutting, grinding riveting and sticking later they were in.

I have only lost one once lol. just driving along, the wind pushed on the door window surround and flexed it enough to allow the window to fly out... was quite entertaining!

Ahh right, thanks for clearing that up :)
I wondered if you lived fairly close cos it would be a pain taking it back and forth!

Putting the big bits in is always easier and quicker, its the finishing touches that make any build, and you've done a nice job :D

Can you have a go? If you can afford to buy me a new one if you bin it yeah sure you can lol.

Brakes are from zcars the willwoods are the 'superlights' i think. rotors are 10" diameter and the alloy bells are made by zcars in house. Think the calipers n discs are from a rally spares mail order that zcars use. Think demon tweeks stock them.

Yeah quality is very good.

Got a daft problem with the engine wiring loom so it dont run atm.
While the bulkhead is off it would be rude not to fit a supercharger to it.
Any one had any experience on here with superchargers? Im thinking of using a Jackson charger? Might be ready for minis Vs beetles in august, depends on if I can get my mini 40LE sold!

Anyone want a nice quiet standard mini 40? Offers around 6K?

Why do people keep bringing up threads that are like 2years old?

I'm thinking the same way too. I think SpyII trying to revived all Honda Builds for the last 2 years, I think his going to do one Honda project:confused:
