Hi, OK well have got the mini shell and the mondeo V6 will be sarting to post pics and things when i can. First job will be to get the front subframe and engine out of the mundeo. Strip out the loom from ford and label it all up. Rob every bit i think we will need and some bits that we may not need(but will once shell has been scrapped !!) If anyone can help with posting pics that would be great or point me to a thread.

sound like a nice project given the history on that engine i would suggest you at least check the water pump if not replace it.
as for posting pics registar with photobucket and add your pics on there then use the copy link and paste on the message page
i am building the v8 mini on this site so it will be interesting to see another "v" build takeing place

I thought just dreaming was the normal forum area, and a member to post in the build diary, but a mod will need to clarify
The diary area was opened up to everyone so that perspective members could show us their stuff
Not sure why that picture link did not work ?
*EDIT* The picture link does not have a file extension which is why I think it does not work, the other pictures in the thread are hosted at a different place.

Looking good but isnt it going to be a bit wide on the back? Could you use a front mini frame or a metro.
It looks a tad wide, there is about 4 inches of wheel outside the side off the min, not any worse than fitting wide wheels with spacers? but plenty of room for inboard offset wheels.
The mini front hubs etc are not designed to take this much torque or power, as for the mini brakes, its going to take some stopping, best to keep with the ford set up.
Car will look mean wide and low, wait and see.

You want a metro front subframe to sort the front-rear track difference and some Fortech arches.
Will look awsome.. :D

What size wheels you planning on running?

the mondeo column puts the steering wheel above the crossmember, the v6 is sitting in the back seat.............where are you going to sit? :(
mr2red
13-09-2008, 12:43 AM

are you welding the mondeo frame to the shell?? if so, how you planning on changeing teh clutch / engine in teh future? should you need too! . if you put a diagonal on that roll cage itll be impossible
mr2red
14-09-2008, 06:37 PM
If you look carefully you can see the mondeo subframe is bolted to the cage and the floor, the cage is welded to the car. There will be a tube across the car that will pick up the top harness mounts between the middle uprights.
