Hello all,

Thought i better start a build diary. Im adam based in auckland, nz. my mini is a 1981 mini city that ive owned for about 5 years now. started my vtec build about a year ago and this is my progress thus far.

The mini Originally how i bought it

removed the front end

Subframe fitted

Clearance for intake and exhaust is extremely tight

I had to make an 8mm shim for the camside engine mount to get the engine sitting level and so the cvs woudnt hit the subframe

Fitted the Brakes

Removed firewall for skunk2 intake

Car is currently at the workshop getting the firewall welded

looking good! are you using original mini hubs etc? if so is that just a universal willwood kit machined to fit?

look awsome so far though, got it started yet?

I really like the grey fire wall! I too have thought of useing MINI tail lights exect going the opposit way you did. Great look!

yeah using original mini hubs. i got the brake kit off smith130gt from these forums. havnt used/tested the brakes yet but from what i see the kit looks very good.
