I apologise for not writing this sooner

The three day meet at Oliver's Mount was an absolutely fantastic weekend, all four drivers got progressively quicker over the weekend and I think everyone had a wonderful time socially too.

Poor Mark got off to a bad start putting his mini through a fence on the first practice lap of the first day but with a little help from some radweld sailed through the rest of the weekend (and no more fences  )

Allan was hero of the weekend when The General had no oil pressure on Saturday morning, out with a hammer and a length of bar and 'hey presto' The General was racing again....he was not helped however by Andy adding oil whilst he (The General) was sitting on a slope..........having blown it out all over the engine bay and having had some removed he felt a lot better

Smurfy (Phil) was going really well all weekend, it was heartbreaking to see his car after the entanglement with the fence, but very kind of him to give Allan the chance to replace a sheared wheelstud. Whilst the marshalls were busy seeing how much more damage they could do to the smurfmobile, Allan was taking a rusty hacksaw to a bolt head as one of his wheelstuds had just dropped off on the way to the start. He managed to get it sorted in time for the restart, with one wheel that wouldn't have looked out of place on Boadicea's chariot, scything through the bad guys....

We had a few visitors throughout the weekend, Paul (mini-sprite) and his son Matty came and camped over the saturday night, then spent most of Sunday looking for matty's phone, unravelling everything they'd just packed...til he found it in his pocket, it's good to see that his visits to the sprints have convinced him to come and join the championship next year. (you've said it now Paul, there's no going back :D ) Hebby appeared and had a chat with Mark on the monday and from the youtube vids up, there were a couple of other members about.

Andy's first proper run on the Monday was a bit of a disappointment, he seemed to slow down at the end of the long straight, when he got back down the hill we discovered it was because the gearknob had come off in his hand! A blob of superglue later and the following run he put in his fastest time of the weekend.

Grace (Mrs McD) and Michelle (Mrs Smurfy :D ) were wonderful with the children, why play with/annoy parents when there are far more interesting people about? :D So a big thank you to both of you :D and thank you to Mark for providing entertainment, shelter, Diet Coke and starting the Championship thing off :D :D (when we go bankrupt I'll know where to come  )

I'm sure you could manage the few weekends of competition :D :D :D

yeah, thats a feeble excuse, i used to have to travel to lydden hill near dover and brands hatch in kent, i've also travelled to belgium to do a rally sprint.

you have just missed probably the best event for you though at scarborough with it being a 3 day event

Very good write up :) I really hope I can make it to one of the sprints soon as it sounds like a cracking day out even as a spectator :) At the mo the wife is keeping me house-bound until I've finished the bathroom though - been at it about 3 weeks now, but nearly there!!!
