No.
TBH fitting a 16v engine in your car will increase the insurance regardless of capacity. Also a smaller than 1.3 version would not be worth the hassle.
 thanks just wondering!!!!!!!!
perhaps a Suzuki would be worth a look(?)

wel if ur insurance companies like mine... try aquiring a 1.4 16v engine from say, a rover 214Si, as opposed to a metro GTi ... lower insurance group!
Im sure the 16v head would fit onto the 1.1 bottom end

talking of insurance!
Right, decided it was finally time to get a quote for me to insure the car instead of dad. I have no, no claims, no accidents and am 22.
Rang flux and they wanted..................£2600 a year
So shortly after out the phone down again.
Decided all was not lost and rang HIC
Same details if not more, they asked LOTS of questions!
£595 a year! and thets £7000 agreed but 3000 limited miles!
My god how can they be sooooooooooooooo different!
Not taken it up yet, but when my student loan comes in, I will!

i already thought there was a 1.1 16v metro or even a 1.1 16v k-serise engine??? maby im wrong???
could give the metro one a go (next year when i get a mini) cus if an ordinary metro head fits a-serise why cant an rover 16v head fit, or maby others would literally be too big??

got number from classic ford and performance ford mags
yep there is a k series 1100 twin cam 16v, i have seen one, these motors went into some of the last metros, and i believe some early 25's have them, be carefull if you want to fit the 16v from a 1.4 to the 1.1 bottom, there is 2 types of bore liner which are not compatible and there is also high and low port heads which i dont know a lot about, but i dare say they are also incompatible.
sean.
although there is a twin cam vauxhall conversion for the a-series.... i do believe its made by jack-knight... dont expect it to be cheap though!
