Today saw the start of the 16v Championship (at Croft) with a woeful number of entries.
Allan McD was our token member competing today in his Scotspeed Vaux Mini.
From the start of practice the track timing gear was playing up, so being held too long on the line by the marshalls caused his lamda sensor to saturate which meant he misfired his way off the line but was well into his stride after 100 yards or so. Second practice run was an improvement on the first.
On his first timed run he was held on the line again due to the the dodgy timing gear, it worked in his favour however and put him second in class (the class included an Audi TT V8 and a 2.6 litre RS 2000 :D )

On his second run he was clearly faster, but the timing gear which had been coming up with wierd and wonderful things all day, disagreed and said he was 15 seconds slower than the first run! Allan was not best pleased.
It had snowed on and off all day and was cold enough to freeze the nuts off a brass monkey

But it was a fun day and we were joined by Mini-sprite (Paul) and his mate Mark and as far as I could tell, a good time was had by all.

So congratulations Allan, you're championship leader :D Although I'm sure you couldn't do it without Grace :D
