I have been looking at entry forms this evening and from what I understand we will race in the Sports Libre class (up to 1400 in my case)?
I was just curious as to why we can't run in the modified production car class, i'm guessing this is because we are not using the A-series? I can't find much info about it on the Auto66 website.

You cant run in a modified class with an engine that isnt available for the car from the factory.
The main regs are in the blue book which you need to go to university to understand  .

Thats one of the main reasons of trying to get this championship up and running. Running in these classes we will never get close to winning anything against such things as radicals, but if we only compete against ourselves it should add more fun.
Im hoping that after this 1st year we can make it a national 16v championship once we work out a suitable points system as i know we have other members who compete down south where the beer is best served warm.

According to the Blue Book, we can't qualify as Libra either. :?
We would need fully race approved fuel tanks and a couple of other bit's n bob's to qualify for Libra properly. (Although I only got GCSE 'Blue Book' rather than a University degree)
Surely we are more related to the Kit-Cars being road legal hybrids.... :?: (Ah except of course Allan isn't road legal with his Vaux)

The other funny thing is that for sprint classes the blue book is only a guide, the organising clubs can determine their own classes. It's part of the problem we have when we do events such as the 3 sisters in which allan ran into problems. Having been involved in rallying and rallycross the other thing i have found is every chief steward and scrutineer reads the rules differently. At the end of the day i think it's a lottery but if you have a cage, seat, harness and log book then you have a good chance of getting a start.
There should be a blue book degree course people can do inorder to understand it. If it's just a case of being in the wrong class though dont worry, they will move you on the day.

I have been studying the blue book all day!!!
The only thing that i need now is to have a handheld extingusher and to have a nozzle on the plumbed in pointing into the pasenger compartment aswell as the engine bay
I have just had a new rollcage/engine frame done by Zcars and a new Plate type LSD and twin silencer exhaust system.
I may bring it along on the 20th to wigan and get the scruits to give it the once over.
Will i be allowed to run my slicks or are you sticking to a road legal tyre as i have some Avon ACB10's aswell

We're heading over for about 11am, but haven't 'formally' arranged to meet up with anyone else. I know Allan McD is racing & I think Mark D will be there too, but am not sure who else is turning out (except your good self of course :) )
