Has anyone fitted the Suzuki heater setup, the Mini one is pants & it would make a lot of sense. But has anyone done it?

we found with the swift engine the mini heater works alot better :D
I think what needs replacing is the piping and the window dimisters. :?

I found a brand new heater core on ebay for $17. It was from a mazda ( I think) and was almost exactly the size of the mini's. It had larger inlet and outlet piping and many more fins than the original.
Took an hour to make it fit and it works like a charm with the G13b, kicks out awsome heat

Hi,
Ohh Bohooo!
I wanted someone else to fit complete Swift setup in Mini, so that I can ask when I re-start mine....
Anyway, I drive mk1 Swift Gti as a everyday car for last 3 years.
It works so good! no comparison to Mini setup.
I even thought about fitting mk1 Gti dashboard into my Mini!
I'm getting carried away again..... .

Mk1 Swift dashboard is so eighties.......wish they'd have put the lights & hazards on to a nice square switch, would have made the wiring so much easier. The heater is one of the jobs I've got left to do.
Question:
As you look at the engine from the front, on the left hand side just below the injector rail there is a small (10mm ish) diameter pipe, not the fuel return, connector...where does this go? My engine runs OK but I've nothing connected to this.... :?
If you could have a look & let me know I'd be very grateful.

Hi Geoff,
I took some photos, I hope it is right one.

This pipe is from engine block and coolant water will go to following place.

I think it is used to warm up inlet manifold so that it doesn't get freezed in a winter.
If you don't block off either end, you will have massive coolant leak.
If your engine is running but no coolant, it might blocked with crap.
Not badthing I think, but make sure you deal with thermo housing end.
I hope it is this pipe you are talking about.
Mk2 head doesn't have this water take off and same is thermo houseing.
You might have mk2 engine in mk1.......

Goes some way to explain.....I do have a mk2 engine & a mk1 inlet manifold & gearbox...so I take it that this will no longer be required or will I need to get the take off from elsewhere..car seems to run fine, not had it out for a spin yet though!
Thanks Atchi.

Hi,
As you know, mk2 don't have them.
I think heat coming from cylinder head must be good enough.
Cheers
