From what I have read, all gearbox sender units give out the same sort of digital pulse. So if you get a sender unit of a new K series engine, I know the 25 series, ZR have them but I would have thought any current model will have one! Then wire in the dash I would have thought it would work.

The sender units have only 3 wires, +ve, -ve and the signal pulse so are easy to deal with.

You then might have a problem with calibration due to wheel size / gear ratio but if you seach the posts you will find info on a calibration unit I am using

Thanks

the vauxhall dash has various pulses i beleive there are three different senders

ask on www.migweb.co.uk they will tell you all about the dash for vauxhall and what each color wire is

I was going to do this with my setup but had a few probs:

recalibrating the dash speed to read accurately and getting it to accept the mini inputs for fuel, lights etc.

it is possible but if you do buy one (just sold mine) make sure you get it with the correct transducer, or else the speedo will be miles out even more, and should read around 20% higher if correct. It shouldnt be too hard to get any speedo cable to take to the transducer, just a bit of clever engineering
