Hey all, new to these boards so first off big shout out from the Emerald Isles! Name is Mike Doody (as the screen name shows) I have a 1440 which is proving to be rather unreliable so looking to make a move to something a bit sturdier.

Now to me question re: the Suzuki Swift Engine:

Firstly I am aiming to put the engine into my Mini for Rallying purposes. Need information on the subframe and drives.

Lads any information at all would be appreciated as I am trying to get stuck into this ASAP

Well, for rallying, you'd probably get pushed into an open class against some really built machines. However, I really like the suzuki motor. It's simple, seems to be reliable, lightweight, and makes decent power for it's size. If you want alot of power, tho, a honda might be a better bet. What are you looking to get out of it, I guess, is the real question?

Hi Mike,

My Brother in-law used to nav for Toyota Starlet with G13B in N Ireland.
I think you will be driving under 1400 class.

Quickest way will be buy subframe from Matt 16vminishop and do it that way. You will be better off buying mk1 car donor instead of mk2 onwards.
I think matt's sub is designed for mk1 so you will need to mod to fit mk2 gearbox. Also, diff is stronger in mk1 anyway.... but in your case will be fitting LSD!?

Or you can build your own subframe like I did ot Smarf's will be good.
I think you will need to beef it up for rally use, anyway.

I think 140bhp with 700kg mini will be good, if you can get drive with out much of wheel spin!

Cheers
