Hi Everyone,

I am about to start a vtec conversion to my rally mini over christmas. :D I am planning on using the 1.6vtec engine from a civic vti and am hoping to use the standard ecu and injection system. But from looking around on the web it seems as if this is the most complex way of fuelling the engine. is there anyone who has managed to complete this?

Honda spent literally Billions of dollars perfecting PGMFi - and you guys want to junk it for an aftermarket system thet requires setting up and mapping from scratch? I like DTA and I know many Rover guys who use it in preference to MEMS - quite understandable :)

PGMFI however is a laod more advanced. It has perfect cold start, idle, closed loop economy and can be chipped to run in almost any situation. My current CRX turbo produces over 260hp from a low boost B16 - and more to come when my 1.8 goes in.

Give PGMFi a chance -and you too can have an engine that runs with perfect manners, produces serious power and is incredibly reliable - just like Honda intended it to! :)

So I take it the engine in your opinion runs better with the standard ecu in! Cheaper too!

Minitec.

I live in shaftesbury so we could get together if you need help with wiring.

Its actually quite easy to do the honda wiring as long as you are brave enough to seperate the loom and find the relevent wires.

PM me and we can chat.

I used the Honda ECU. I would reccommend getting the Honda wiring manual and then it's not to bad a job to rip out the non engine management stuff from the ECU. The resulting harness is a lot smaller than the original Honda one and you take advantage of the Honda effort that went into mapping the system.

im gonna use honda ecu too, got most of the honda wiring loom with my engine, shouldnt be too hard to work out.
