Is anyone using the standard Mini 3-clock binacle speedo? The suzuki has a mechanical drive, and the Mini is mechanical, but what are the chances they are similar ratios? So, what have you guys done? Just had the clock recalibrated?

I used the Suzuki clocks and all the Suzuki electrics.

I think theres a very slim chance that they will have similar ratios (different gear ratios and wheel sizes)
but i reckon you could get it calibrated easy enough.
I didnt bother with a cable powered one as it would have to have been huge.

What would have been huge? The speedo or the cable? I like the huge speedo. I would go aftermarket if there were any in 5". 4" is as close as I can get, and even those are limited in style. if I wanted 3 3/8 or 2 something, there are a tone of nice ones, but I don't think they don't fit the mini very well...

It (speedo cable) would be huge because his engine is in the back.

Hi,

I'm going with 4" smith or CS digital programmable speedo(wheel size).
I got it for p/x for Phantom Grip LSD I made as a trial which I sold well part ex.
I think it would have cost me £180 or something like that.

Cheers

I thought I saw that Autometer has a 5" electronic programmable speedometer to match their monster tachs.

Oh, there are a couple 5" speedos out there.
...but I haven't seen any that I would put in my car. In addition to being the right size, it has to look good and I'd say most of Autometers stuff is kind of gross. Certainly not all of it, but they don't make one product that got everything right.
