Strudel made his own frame for a LHD with a Honda non-vtec - his site is http://www.angelfire.com/droid/strudel/.
MiniMike has fitted a 1600 SOHC vtec to a LHD mini too - his site is http://minimikebc.tripod.com/
Whilst neither site are exactly what your after, they may certainly help - You could also check out GoMinis website (cant remember the address!)
Hope this helps !

Take a look at MiniMike's site. He did build his on a Mini one. You can get alot of information from there, I did. Thanks Mike :D

Even if you're going for the B16A engine, you should be able to adapt it to your needs with minor adjustments. The hardest part is getting started. Get an engine and you'll see things a different way with a 160BHP lump sitting in your garage next to a car that's only waiting to try it

minimivic has done exactly what you are asking about, here is a link to his site:

He would be a good person to get advice from as his mini is the business :D

Lars, There are many ways to do a Honda conversion. I see that you wish to use a Metro frame for a VTEC Honda engine. First off, which type of Mini are you planning to put it in? Roundnose or Clubby. Clubbies have more room in the engine bay as I understand.

If you have some fabricating skill or someone that can help you it is usually some trial and error and finally you get it to work. A lot of people use the standard Mini frame and cut off everything in front of the towers. You must make some room in the area where the axles have to fit for the larger Honda ones.

They then add a box type frame to the front of the towers to fit their particular engine. Here is another site to look at for a regular Mini frame and SOHC engine. http://www.ringmini.de/

Here is a site that will give you lots to look at. http://www.manchesterminis.richardswebdesigns.co.uk/Links/hybrid_mini_sites.htm#Honda%20Hybrids:

It doesn't answer your questions but may give you some ideas. I have lots of pictures of different frame designs but are for a standard subframe. If you need a few ideas just send me an e-mail and I will try and help out. JS

Im going to build it from a Clubman.
I have a couple of other minis such as a Cooper S -68 with 1600 cc engine, Its a Cooper S block bored out to 1380 and stroked to almost 1600cc. I also have a Innocenti 1300 Cooper export, mini van -65 and a Cooper S -67 .
Im a bit tired of all the hassle with the mini engines and I now want to do a V-tec engine. Here in Sweden they are not so common..

I have looked at a couple of subframes and I think It couldnt be that hard to make one. I can use a full workshop for welding. My friend is also a welder.

Anyone who have a watson frame with all the measurements?
Some of the home build frames I´ve looked at are looking ok but I wonder if all have the strengh to cope with the power ? Is that a fact or?

im into fiting mini hubs with Metro brakes. I have done this before on my mini and It does work out very well. But Is it safe to cut the driveshafts and then weld them together?
