Hi guys

Has anyone experienced problems with these?

My passenger side one keeps popping off, chucking that lovely CV grease all over the bleedin' subframe and shocks, I put more CV grease back in the boot, then secure it with a zip tie on very tight, but it always pops off, am I doing this right?

Thanks

Joe

Dont use tie straps, they will slacken off after a while as they stretch.

Use only wire - you can strip a legth of 2.5mm mains cable and use one of the cores - Switch it off first tho

A cable tie will hit the hub and flip the cv boot off, best bet is to use a bit of stainless lock wire looped round the cv twice and tightened by twisting the ends together with pliers. We use this technique on all our rally and race cars and they never come off!

as above. i used two cable ties and cut off the excess when this happened on my corsa. lasted until I sold it. depends how much clearence is available, a jubilee clip is overkill but still a bit too big

Never had a problem with cable ties on the metro set up. Presume you have something similar.... have you checked to see if something is catching....?

From what Ive seen, some replacement boots are slightly too small so they dont end up in the right OEM location anyway.

Last time I looked I think there was a groove the clasp for the boot would fit into, but I could well be imagining that one :?:

Not much to add to this, but with My A series, I got replacement boots, and they came with a springy wire to hold them on, kind of like a metal elastic band or a hir bobble elstic thingy :?
