:) Hi everyone im from australia and am trying to find any information on converting my mini to a suzuki swift GTi engine? I have a 61 model mini (so it has the round nose) I firstly need to know what to do about the subframe eg. do i use the swift or the mini one? i have been able to sit the motor in the engine bay but what are the main things that have to be done regarding mounting it? any help/pictures would be much appreciated. cheers Jodee

Hi Jodee,

Welcome!
I have '68 mk2 mini and fitted mk1 Gti engine in.
It depend on what mk of engine you are fitting into your mini.
If you are fitting mk1 Gti then you can use under gearbox mount and 2 more.
If you go and see my build diary you will see some of the photos.
You will need to modify rear of the sybframe to clear gearbox diff housing.
Mk2 engine will be bit more difficult as I tried and before I went any further, I managed to buy low milage mk1 setup for cheap.
There are many Swift(Cultus) Gti Mini, so you can get a lot of ideas and help from ppl here.

Good luck
