Alan - looking brilliant there! you have certainly done some difficult work there!

when you have fitted the engine, give me a shout, I have a few questions to cross reference with the stuff I have done so far with my allspeed kit.

Thanks, and keep up the good work!

I didnt measure anything when I cut the bulkhead I looked at other peoples pictures and decided to cut the most that was practical.
Then I fitted a brace along the bottom of the section I cut after that I filled the hole with a bit of curved steel sheet I knocked up.

I got my rear sub frame in at the weekend but when I fitted a rear wheel last night I found the arch was far to narrow  so I had to cut it of and fibreglass a few inches extra in.
We live and learn.

I got both rear arches widened and finished also got nearly all the shell painted with primer tinted with the final colour that the wife wants. I hope to have the shell painted with the top coat by Sunday pm.

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK ALAN! - all your snags will undoubtedly help us other allspeed vtec guys out!

I have a bit more done the progress is slow but I have a new radiator fitted temporary and the bonnet lengthened. I have had to cut the arches and make them a couple of inches wider and that is a bl**dy laborious job.

I have been so busy working on the mini I haven’t been able to keep my diary up to date but I have an other pic from tonight I got it running and all the water works finished ,it is charging and the engine is in for the final time with drive shafts brakes and suspension all sorted. The front left shock took a lot of messing with as it was rubbing on the subframe but with a bit of grinding drilling and brute force its ok now.
I aim to get it on the road this month fingers crossed.

Allan McD
24-08-2006, 08:54 PM
The van has a turbo in it I got a turbo motor for the pickup but then I found out you can fit a vtec I dont think I will fit a metro turbo again.
How much power has the Suzuki motor got I feel a bit bad as we are a Suzuki dealer not Honda.
Allan

Sorry no new picks it was dark when I finished tonight I will get some tomorrow.

I dint get a MOT today the place I go to was to busy Im booked in for tomorow. Its gave me a chance to adjust a few things eg the front rh tyre was rubbing a we bit on my wheel arch it needed a bit of a tweek.
The car i brilliant to drive in the dry but a bit hairy in the wet when its reved over 6000rpm.

I'm pleased you clarfied that the "DNA" all over your pickup was in fact blood!

- I've heard it is possible to love your car a little bit *too* much, if you catch my meaning

(It is gorgeous though so I wouldn't have blamed you if you had...)

The pickup has been ace so far just a few teething problems like small rattles and I geared it up a bit with a Watson kit.
It’s fast and handles ace and ran sub 15 sec ¼ mile first time.

I have a new project on the cards using a pickup a Suzuki Swift and a turbo
