Not exactly cheap for a metro, but £150 notes for a car that starts first turn of the key, is in everyday use until i pick it up on saturday, and has been owned by the same lady for the last 6 years...
It also has the desirable MPi alloy wheels and Vented discs, which will recover some of the £££ as i'm going to drop it into a modded mini frame.

The MPi really is a much better system than the SPi - the mid range 'go' and general responsiveness of the engine is well worth having; but the accelerator needs a much heavier spring!!!

All i need now is an MPi fuel tank...

Nice one mate! Another K-series destined for the streets then ! Take it the vaux project is the back of a long list now then ??
Mind you, the quicker you build this one the quicker the rest of us can go "Daaaave, how do I do this? Daaaave, where does this connect?" !!!

Dave,

is this going into a normal mini front? and are you going to use all the metro running gear?

yes yes

I may chicken out and lengthen the front by 1-1.5" however, but it MUST remain a roundnose!

the 1.4 rover engines are a realy good unit ,i had a gti metro for 6 years
driven hard ,track days etc ,and it never let me down once
i sold it on with 140000 miles on it and it was fine no rattles
also the k series has brilliant cooling ,i ran my car with no fan for the 6 yrs i had it with no overheating problems at all
