so i just want to share a lil bit on my build. see what u think. My build with aggressive cams that i put together , stiill needs a lil bit items to be sorted but she runs and turns on. She should be o a dyno soon.

bisimoto cam and high comp pistons.

nice bodies ;0 i see you have put a bent on the inlet i was thinking of making up somthing of the same lines just to get more air round back of them good i idea like it, what you think of the obx set up alot of people think there poor but for the cash i was impresed with mine prity poor port match tho i opened them out abit ha.

I like the ITB, when i first got them, i just readjusted every single componet on them.it worked fined with the stock ecu but i got a s300 to tune it. I end up polishing the inside just to remove the casting. I didnt want to open it up, just to get the velocity of the air.

Probably just the picture (or maybe not!) but them itb's look freckin hoooooooge! You could suck up pedestrians if your not careful

Maybe I'm just too used to seeing them on b rocker covers but they do look big, what size are they?

k20/k24 allmotor

45mm. U are right and that is y I made the runner longer to speed up the air. :)

Where did you get ur engine mounts?

k20/k24 allmotor

eBay.com. $180ship use all three honda mount, worked great.

Kam
12-12-2011, 08:22 PM
I made the runner longer to speed up the air. :)

Does having the itb's angled like that make a difference? I know some people reckon on a normal inlet which has been cut and hoses used (mtb frame) it can hamper the performance

I always thought itb's are all about having them as straight as poss?

k20/k24 allmotor
12-12-2011, 09:38 PM
you are right, about the angle of entry and how it effects the performance. i came up with the idea from a old school rx7 set up from racingbee the idea came from gravity feed increasing the distance for cooling the manifold and increasing fuel atomizing the fuel. its all in thoery i have seen improvement on the old setup soi figure why not give it a try. only time will tell.

http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=downdraft+webber+rx7&view=detail&id=28A692C7BC5029FEF7EABCA4967812E7F67D2DFE&first=0&FORM=IDFRIR

Kam
12-12-2011, 10:02 PM
Its not the gravity feed here though is it, its the break in the flow, I mean the angle that the flow has to travel, I'm sure on inlets although they are angled its still to get it as straight as possible (like on exhaust manifolds) but yours is using more gravity (longer runner) but the angle is still sharp (sorry don't know the technical term!) so you got more force (gravity) heading towards a tight bend

I'm not sure how this affects performance though, would that be top end or just not having a crisp throttle response as it should feel, probably negligible?

I agree though that this is all new stuff so why not try it

k20/k24 allmotor
12-12-2011, 10:13 PM

u even type like ur from new york..

its only about 1.5" of a 45 deg angle. it makes sennse when you see it in person. i think the angle is as minimal as you can get it. if it looses power because of it id be surprised. but, id bet money this thing puts out shit tons more power than it looks. and being a single cam it wont be so agressive. cant wait for the dyno day.

Well the car is going to the dyno on 25th. After that the car is go to the body shop. I have both stander and extended front end so I'll let the body shop do that. Because of the alternator stic out 40mm I think the extended one would work better. But that one give me room for a better header.

Will post pic of the front end soon. Sorry!

alright guys just got back from the dyno and these are the results 143 wheel hp and 168bhp at the flywheel I'm really happy with it the power didnt drop off until 7400 rpm i took it out for a run with the tranny that I have now, came out of a d15z3. This tranny has a 3.722 final drive so its pretty tall lets say i have no traction in 1st and 2nd. and now Im going to bulid a tranny with all the tranny that i have laying around.

bisimoto is the man on non-vtec and i love his cam so level 2 would be for you. on the comp you can go up .030 is one point so if you start 10.8 you would have 11.8.

Post the ratios if you can.

k20/k24 allmotor
09-02-2012, 08:05 PM
ok this is what i went with. a close gear ratio with lsd. rev limit is 8200.

1st 3.25
2st 1.90
3st 1.346
4st 1.033
5st 0.878

fd 3.722

VT-Doo
10-02-2012, 06:19 AM
What gearbox is that? The ratios closely look like the S9B or are they custom?
If it is a S9B from a MB6 then on R13/175/50 you'll end up with these speeds at 8200rpm...

FD:3.722
1st: 40.4mph
2nd: 68.6mph
3rd: 95.9mph
4th: 126.1mph
5th: 153.8mph
Reverse: 43.5mph LOL

Cruising speed of 70mph = 3732rpm

***EDIT***

Just realised you're using a baby VTEC engine so I'm totally off on what I just said, however the figures are still right.

i actually had mine running for one day (then spun a bearing... doh ) but, while it was running for that glorious day i did a run with my s9b (std gearing) using 3.7 fd, and at 80 i was at exactly 4k rpm (was at 5200 before). was really nice to drive, and boy were the gears long, which made the car totally controllable as it spread the powerband across the rpm's... cant wait for round 2 with a new motor, so i can hopefully drive it for more than one day

k20/k24 allmotor

I wouldn't say that they are "prone to failing". They will work fine in a mini. You would have to double or triple the hp to see an issue.

no sir!!!!! on the visor. yes it an extended front i know that u guys dont like the extended front end but im really about the performace not the looks. I always wanted to get a better header for it and I will end up useing more room for that later on. Im thinking about building a separate d series motor just for race. probably looking at something close to 200hp range but thats in the near future, once i get the car set up suspension and tires wise.

So would a standard sized front fit on top of your d series?

yeah I can use a stardard front end on my car if I wanted to push in a few items. But, I didnt want to make a big clutter in the engine bay so i opted to put the extendend front end. plus im gonna start to making a custome equal lengh header so i rather use the room. plus i gave the engine room to move. around.

Theres no room under the bonnet anyway whether you got a B or D for the heat to escape, more room the better

u need to understand the civic was set up just right for drag racing. with the mini im really trying to just make a weekend warrior n dont want to go that in depth, for drag racing with this car. I am going to drag race it but knowing me once i get it out there i will start making adjustment and the car will end up being another drag race car lol.

lol i know what you mean i took mine to york last week for a bit of fun but now i want to sort a few things and go back and beat my time.
i think its the fact that i know there is definately a better time in the car and once i have reached the best time out of it i will call it a day then stick to trackdays which is what i originally built it for :)
