Barkston fire and thunder event
5 nov 2011
Yes I have got thick skin after the last Debacle, but our last event of the year now consists of a mornings worth of timed sessions (So Richard can cement his position at 23rd place) and then a full afternoon of free play with Passengers. This would be an ideal time for any of you whou would like some instruction.
All welcome, it would be nice to have a Mini contingency to take the mickey out off.
If not look forward to seeing you all (nearly all) next year
Regards
Bill (loudhailer)

That looks nasty Bill, hows your back? I guess your reactions get slower as you get older :)
Have you got a shot of the damage to the Pug?
BTW we wont be at Barkstone this weekend, lots of jobs on the go and the van is off the road - see you next year.

Holy Fuck ........... Nice one Bill & crew :D
Can 16VMiniClub get a team into this in 2012?
I'd need an ARDS then change out my 2.5gallon fuel tank for a bigger one but otherwise it looks do-able.
Hurrah for the RAFMSA!

A few still pictures joined together will be fine :)
Make sure you get the pics on the first or second run in case the boys snap something.

Cheers Bill , We'll get the mini sorted over the winter, ready for next season, and with a bit of practice the times will be loads better, On a better note we haven't broken anything this time even though we spent a lot of the time on the grass :), The weather didn't help either, but not making excuses, See you next season, Steve.

We need a spare set of wheels to give us some more tyre options, As the weather forecast was wet, I put on some full wets on the rear that we used to set the car up originally and they were pants, The weather didn't help either, mist was so bad it delayed the start for half an hour till it lifted, but visibility was so bad, only one car on track at one time, Safety first, still got twice as many runs in as we would on an msa event, Great day, tested car a bit more, even learned a bit of grass tracking :) ,
Steve.

 'Tis really good to read that you've had a full days racing without any breakages.
Wet & misty doesn't sound like ideal sprinting conditions though :(

Marshalls were great tho and managed to run the event.
Hopefully sorted out the issues now and can start to focus on setup. See you all next year.

Yes the weather was not what we expected I'm afraid, I have never seen real fog at Barkston normally its just engine smoke off a Mini or two :p
Well done to both Smurfs who managed to find there way round without actually getting lost, yes the fog was that bad
Looking forward to next year hope to see more of you at the actual challenge rather than just the track days

I know you drive to the conditions but phew, the first video was slower than our setting up the track lap in the transit :D:D
The driver of the second vid eventually came top of the guessing game so he was happy despite the slightly grassy lines.
I have a pdf of the times from the day if anyone wants them just send me a pm.
I'm looking forward to next year as me and my mate Gordon have just splashed out £400 on a 1.8 MX5 for next years sprinting. :)
Means The 205 can be saved for the circuits.
Anyone fancy a bit of circuit racing ? we are doing a track day at Cottismore early next year for anyone interested.
