Howdy:beer:
A quick intro to our build, what we've done and where we're at:)
Mini is a clubman estate of '79 vintage thats been back from having some bodywork done for a few months now, its had wings, a panels, slam panel, front panel, rear valences, door skins, cills, plus various small repairs and a full exterior paint in vermillion red. 90% of the panels were genuine old stock or new heritage.
Before it went for bodywork over the course of about 2-3 yrs:!: it had the original 1275 removed and fitted with an allspeed frame, and a b18c4 engine with dta (bought from here).
Original 1275

Using the different engine meant altering the front crossmember on the frame slightly for clearance to the standard manifold and we fabricated an exhaust system using parts from jetex.
(pics to be found)
The dta was fitted (e48 exp) and the wiring run to the various places to check for fit.
The watsons inlet manifold was used with jenvey parallel throttle bodies and a big foam filter that 'just' clears the bulkhead.

The clutch master was replaced with the 14mm ap style.
A set of HID bulbs were fitted and the ballasts mounted to the remainders of the inner wings.
A saxo radiator was persuaded to fit across the front of the engine bay on custom brackets.
A corsa power steering column and speed controller was fitted.

and then it was stripped down and sent for the bodywork as a rolling shell...
Now at last the rebuild has started.:D We've got a big list of jobs to do, big stuff like pulling the engine and box and fitting the watsons final drive bought at mini 50, and small stuff like refitting all the interior, a lot of which will have to be new as the old stuff was past it.
We'll post pics as we go along but as its a secret project dont expect many expansive views until the reveal..
