So, I figured it was time to start a build thread.. Some of you probably remember me, already did the B18c1 Minitec deal, and after hard thinking over the past year I decided I would try my hand at doing a G10 Suzuki 3 cylinder build. So currently I am building my demo car to show what products I am cranking out of here on the East Coast of the U.S.A. B18 was brutal, but I was looking for something 1. Cheaper 2. Fits easier 3. Better fuel economy. The plans are to build 1 5speed demo car, and the red one will be getting a 3 cyl auto turbo. So I have 6 frames mocked up, just need to fab motor mounts. So in conjunction with Alspeed this is what we have so far.....

Then it was time to get some new meats on the car and I went with the typical 13x7's with Yoko A048r Medium compound.

Fronts had drums, so I opted to go for the 8.4's. Should be fine for stopping.

Of course rears didn't have spacered drums, so I pressed in the longer studs and threw on a 3/4" spacer, may have to go for the 1" later.

Then in conjuction with Tony/Abs Motorsports we came up with what I call Annapolis Arches...

The are group 2's I believe widened to just over 4.5"s, move over sportpack arches.

And here is the lovely Metro we picked up last weekend for $200. Neighbor loves it! The NRA stickers are a nice touch.
Anyway, that is where I am at at the moment. Will be starting in roughly 2-3 weeks pulling the donor engine, and hopefully scrapping the car. Hopefully be able to have the 2 demo cars done before the end of the year, and have frames available as well for people that want to do winter projects. Cheers!

Don't believe the come in carbon, you would have to contact Tony at ABS for the info on that. I am loving the way the Annapolis/Mexico Arches came out. Now I just need to get some hi-lo's to sit it down a tad lower... but not to much.

Front mount I reused the stock front left mount from the block. The other 2 mounts I actually ended up using Mini motor mounts, ironically they actually bolt right to the block. Made life that much "simpler".

So that's the short of it, only have to fab the axles, alternator mount, run fuel lines, do the wiring, brake lines, exhaust, etc. Hopefully have it done in the next 2 months. Lets see!

Hi,
How far does your oil sump stick out?
It looks very tidy fit in there and as if it was there from the start!
You can start to make a turbo version next.

Would love to do a turbo version later down the road, but we will def be enjoying it NA until next winter. Not sure what you mean as far as the sump sticking out? Everything clears with relatively loads of room, as far as the bottom I will have to measure and compare to a stock A-series to see how much lower if at all the oil pan sits. Now the big things are the making the axles and making either a top mount alternator, or reverse mount with a shield for water in the fender well.

Eh, yea it sits kind of forward, but atleast it is all aluminum and weighs in at 100lbs less than the a-series, plus it does sit lower overall. Had to position it that way anyway for the axles and the tbi to clear. Lets see how the 3 into 1 headers fit on there next week.

Just got a pic of the 2 sets of custom headers I had made. They are stainless 3 into 1 with o2 bung welded, and he threw in a flange with a flex pipe. Should work out pretty good.

Kaison,
G10 engine is Suzuki Swift 993cc engine which does 60+mpg in UK.
These cars are very cheap to buy and take complete running gear out will be easy.
The engine is about 65Kg and the gearbox is about 25Kg.
In USA and Canada, they have turbo version of these G10 engines.
G10 engine is very good strong engine so you will have a fun with it.
Good work meethespeakers!

Thanks guys, it's slowly getting there. Still lots of little things to figure out, but now that the 62 is almost out of my way I will have a little bit more time to dedicate to it. Then I got to get going on my car, and the 61 Morris Minor 3.4 swap. :vtec:
