I've had a similar problem on a Renault - think that was the idle control valve, but as far as I know DTA doesn't use this. Would the only thing that could cause it on a DTA be throttle position sensor?

Could be a sticky throttle potentiometer. Not sure what set up you have........

Should be able to clean it up if it is

It should just have two screws securing it to the throttle body - BE CAREFULL though - if you remove it, it has to go back in EXACTLY the same position, as the ECU is effectively calibrated for where ever the sensor is.

You will need to reset the throttle pot after removing it. This should be done with a volt meter, you just need know what the voltage is to set it to - the DTA instruction may tell you this

you cant remove the throttle sensor from the body ,its riveted on ,i only know this because my one is damaged ,honda dont sell it seperately ,you have to buy the throttle body which comes with the sensor for £350

i think there the same .honda are having a laugh not selling the sensor seperatly ,the guy at the honda garage agreed with me ,i have seen 2nd hand bodies for sale at about 120 to 150

Yeah, it is not screwed on and can not see any way of cleaning it etc. All the connections are fine as well  anyone got a spare B16 one!

Might have a B18 one - I stripped down the honda manifold so I should still have the TB in the garage somewhere with the sensor on -remembering back - I was going to try and remove the sensor to see if I could use it with the dta/jenvey setup and save a few quid - remember now that it couldn't be removed !!

re the TPS on a Honda throttle body is not riveted on. They are actually screws. If you put a slit in them with a dremel/hacksaw/weapon of choice, then you can unscrew them with a flat blade.
Rover ones from the 216 gsi & gti, well any rover with a honda engine, and pretty much any honda engined car with pgmfi management will bolt up and work on the B series throttle body.
Best bit is that the Rover ones and also some Hondas have screwed on TPS's with the correct end to put a screw driver into.

Daft place for the TPS, have never broken one of those removing an engine or transporting it...
