So I've been trying to track down a G13 locally, but I've come up short, so far.. For as many Geo/Chevy Metros & Suzuki Swifts I've come across in the wreckers, I've not found a single 1.3L. Ideally, I'd like the SOHC 16v jobber that was in the 98 and on vehicles here in the US, but I still haven't found anything.
...except for a 1.6L out of a Geo/Chevy Tracker/Suzuki Sidekick. So Has anyone tried this block? I'm a bit concerned about the height difference, but I can't seem to find any info on what the difference is. It's SOHC, so I get a bit of a break, spacewise on that, but is it enough?
My other option so far is the 1.0L 3-cyl SOHC G10 which there are a metric ton of, but I don't like the ratio's on that transmission(from what I"ve read). I'd prefer the transmission out of a econo 4-cyl model so I can cruise the highway w/o going deaf at 4500rpm...

Hi,

Why don't you try teamswift web site?
You can get a lot of info from there.
In North America, you have G10B Turbo engine as well.
This will be good engine for you to fit in mini.
3 pot so, smaller but as powerful as G13B in std form.
I know some guys in Teamswift has 180bhp from it.

Cheers
Atchi

Yeah, I've been over there, but I'm interested in the size of the g16 motor fitting in a mini specifically... They don't cover that kind of thing very often on teamswift.net. Thanks, tho.
Also, the G10 turbos don't seem to be very common as I have yet to see one running or not. I've seen more GTI's.
It may come down to me doing my own turbo if I could find some info on the G10 factory turbo cars as a starting point. I'm concerned about crank walk on the 3-cyls tho...

i think i read somewhere that the 16 is an inch taller.
Also the main tight areas around a g13b in a mini are the induction and the twincam pulleys.
Personally i think that a g16 would be a close fit in sohc layout but would fit (A wing and bonnet bulge may be needed) and i would imagine that the carb would take up less room than injection.

I think teamswift have covered turbo charging NA 3 pots.

hope this helps

An inch taller, eh? That's getting pretty close to what I think is getting too tall... maybe I'll keep looking for a 4-pot...
A carb MAY be smaller than the TB injection setup, but a port injection system that I have in mind should give me the clearance I need and a good bit of performance over any other setup, I think...
