I have way too much on doing the hills nearly every weekend so its a no for me.
No wonder Mark is struggling having a westfield to look after as well as the mini ;)

What is the definition of 'spare cash'? If 'spare' means that it would otherwise be saved then I've not had spare cash for 20 years.

T'would be superb if you could get out to play :)

It looks like Whitby MC is a member of both ANCC & ANECCC so yes it will be fine - but I guess you have all ready checked it out :)

Cheers Richard, I'm off to the motor club on Monday night so i'll get my membership renewed and get my entry in the post next week. I spoke to Tracey at York MC and they have about 29 entries at the moment so the event is going to run.

They have got some way to go yet then. I thought the minimum entry was 50?

Mark D
10-05-2011, 10:25 PM
No, she said that to have that many entries at this stage was quite good and they were hopefull of getting more. She said that as there are a couple of sprints over the next few weeks people hold off to make sure that the cars are ok. I know that Kurt and I are going to do it so thats 2 more late entries at least.

Have you got your entry sent off then Lee

Mark D
18-05-2011, 08:45 PM
I've got my entry sent off today and been busy again in the garage so we are getting there. Tonight's been a one step forward and one step back night though so i've come in. Most of the big jobs are done but I've just blown the piston out of the rear caliper so got all the brakes to bleed again and that's not an easy job.

Heres for some more sunny weather.

Oh and my Licence arrived today and i payed my membership for Whitby MC so the only thing standing in my way is a log book.

Mark D
18-05-2011, 08:58 PM
For those who are entering don't forget your car needs to be fitted with a spill kit for this event. I don't know if you have one already buts it's the 1st time i've come across the requirement. I got mine from good old flea bay for a couple of quid.

Allan McD

ive just looked on ebay but do you have to have one in the car? Are they really that hard up at Teeside that you have to bring your own round the track:D

MSA Reg' J5.20.13

There is a reminder in the regs as a requirement so i would say yes

Allan McD
18-05-2011, 09:48 PM
Thats just recommended.
And its just to be available at your paddock base.
All the meetings I have been to these have been available by the club.

I recon a bit of cat litter (unused) in a bin liner should be OK :)

Mark D
18-05-2011, 10:17 PM
Well all i know is that this sentence is printed on the front page of the entry form, i read it as a spill kit is needed to be carried in the car. Please don't shoot the messenger lol!!!!

'Competitors are reminded of the recent new Blue Book regulation S.9.2.1 (Requirement to wear flame
resistant gloves to spec K14 3 [e]). The venue owners have specified that spill kits must be carried in all
competing vehicles, in accordance with J.5.20.13'

It does read in the blue book that it is only recommended, so they may not be able to enforce the rule, but remember this is the racmsa and can invent anything on the day.

Have either of you had any sort of confirmation from the York Motor club to say that your entry has been accepted at Teesside? I've heard nothing from them.:???:

Tracy phoned us at the weekend, it seems that she couldn't decipher my hand writing and I hadn't signed the indemnity section ;)
She said then that there were 44 entries and the event was definately on.

Back to the subject of spill kits this is in the final regs I got today

14) Competitors are reminded that the venue owners have requested that all competitors have a spill kit available. Small Spill Kits can be purchased from Owen Morgan (Maximum Attack Rallying), who will have a limited number available to sell at the venue. Pre-orders can be placed with Owen – tel 07747 025434 (mobile) or maximumattackrallying@hotmail.co.uk (email)

Just got in from the garage and buttercup is still not ready for Monday. I'm off to Snetterton tomorrow so running out of time quickly. I had hoped to have got it finished tonight but it started playing up by chucking out loads of smoke from the exhaust which made me think a ring had gone by the way it was fouling up a plug. Two hours later after various compression tests etc I opted for a new coilpack which has cured the problem but leaves me with a load of little jobs to get done plus all the loading up. Who said motorsport was fun!!!!!

But i'll still be there i'm sure

Captions anyone? :)

Mark spots a penny in the darkest recesses of his boot.

MarkyD absolutely scudded Richard & me at Teesside today, he ended up beating us by a massive 2 seconds, which was amazing when you consider she's been handling really badly until he fixed his radius arms.

............ don't have a clue what to do to make back that sort of gap :(

does my bum look big in this?

Mark D
30-05-2011, 09:14 PM
Well all I have to say on the matter is a big, big thank you to everyone. After the problems i had with the fuel pump packing in in 2nd practice the win would not have been possible without everybody's help and the 16v lads coming to the rescue. It is a real testiment to what i think this championship is about. It's not the winning that counts, It's the taking part!!!, At times like this you certainly know who your friends are.

But I did enjoy kicking the Impreza WRC's arse by 4/10's second!, It cost you how much!!!!!!

feel free on the captions because if it was anyone else I would be doing the same!!

On another note, If I can beat a WRC Scoobie does that mean I qualify for the worlds fastest mini title????

Mark D
30-05-2011, 09:33 PM
does my bum look big in this?

Spooky, thats the exact words I said whilst I was in there!!

I'm going with 'when I was a gynocologist I wouldnt go into a hole this big without a miners lamp and a canary'!!!!

And changed the coilpack, i recon it now has an extra 15-20 BHP, the throttle response was totally different and right on the button.

Mark D

Just got the fuel pump stripped down and it was dirt ingress that caused the failure. I'm a bit dissapointed though because the bits that i found were quite large and should have been caught by the pre-filter.

How about
F*ckin hell, not again, this is the last time I attend an event without a Dyson, why do I have to keep using stainless nuts;)

Or maybe:
No BBQ this time, I had better provide a spit roast, OK who wants to go first;)

Well done Mark, great to hear your creation is going so well, I will look forward to my passenger ride at Barkston:)

Have you not noticed the Southern team is growing & I am sure more will sign up. I wouldn't make space for the trophy just yet, could be embarrassing when you come home without it:)
