Does he use the site? you might all remember his standard looking 1100 Clubby V Tec, He was a BL engineer and done a 1.6 V Tec with his own hidden loom etc, it used standard ECU and inlet etc, and looked as if it was always meant to be there! A truly stunning install. His feature also had a RR session in it with Mark Dutton's 1600 on the RR, it has white compomotive MO's, Basically, I have a few questions for Bob, and would love to get in contact. Scott G

Scott, Since you moved to Scotland you've lost your spelling too lad!

This is a web SITE and I hope I have read between the lines of your post. That must be a license plate number and you surely must be alluding to an article in a car magazine, say perhaps, MiniWorld or Minimag?? Yes, he would be an interesting gentleman to speak with.

Just remember we all here have the SIGHT, that is 16V insight! JS

Was this the guy with the rather unremarkable looking pagent blue Clubman? I believe he was featured in Miniworld sometime last year. Great lookin car - a total "sleeper", that's for sure. Still had the yucky brown interior and everything!

Would that not be the car in the avatar Nij uses?? Do a search for a post by him.

Is he the person in question? or is it his car now? or does he just have it as an avatar?

This post may be more helpful than it first appears....

Haven't logged in in a while, supprised to see my car and its creator up for discussion!!

Abit of history: :D

I purchased the Pageant Blue Clubman from Bob in July 03, after seeing it in the mini world classified.

It used to be a 998 auto, until Bobs son James, blew the engine on the motorway.

Bob was one of Watsons first customers, and areas of the improved kit are thanks to him not really likeing what he saw first time around.

It is running DTA and has all the wireing hidden inside the car behind the dash.

its still got the brown interior!!! i am currently collecting items for a rebuild in the summer.

the car was first featured in C&C conversions, after Bob took it to a honda track day to set the suspension up. The car upset many there when they realised it was one of the fasted machines on the track, There was a write up in C,C&C about the track day and bobs car got a little feature.
However, because IPC media also runs mini world, someone told someone, who then told someone else, until there was a mini world person ringing Bob about doing a feature in the mag.

Bob sold the car car because he is building another vtec, he has the engine etc, but just needs a shell. i told him about the site, and he posted a request for a healthy clubby estate. don't want to say to much about his new project, but it will make my car look like a shopping trolley!!!!!

Also the car has just featured in a mini world film, where Bill Sollis ripped it around Curborough race track along with a host of other nice mini's. Should be out on dvd in late April sometime.

Thats it really, anyone doing London-Brighton?? if so i will see you there

i think the loom in my car is just how watsons suggested making it, appart from when it was completed bob then made himself a brand new loom with all the correct relays etc but tailored so that everything fit behind the dash inside the car rather than in all the usuall places. The stereo had trouble being replaced because of the amount of wires behind there!! As for needing help, i have all the plans to the entire loom on the car, but if you want to ask him some more general questions PM them to me and i will pass them on.
