Hi folks, I'm known for biteing off more than I can chew, well, we'll see

The GT has had extensive welding carried out by my Father( Best tool in my Garage!) He has done a good job, I'll post some pics of the work when I learn how to.

As for my weird title/user name YES, I'm building The"Frankenstien" B20b3 V Tec Hybrid. I sourced a full Unit/head and ancillaries for £475 running and have now stripped her to a bare block to allow for machineing. I have to machine the block to accomadate for the PCV(Positive Crankcase Ventilation) system and block the V Tec oil way on the head. I will then proceed to remove the big bronze grommit screw on the head and supply the V Tec from there, more info can be found at www.c-speedracing.com . I got My B16a1, box, loom, OBD 0 ECU for £450 from a friend in Newcastle and I am taking the head and block to be machined in ClydeMarine's machine shop( Advatages of being in the merchant navy)

Finally, Cosmeticly, the GT will remain a street sleeper, I have Curleys carbon arches to be fitted, a carbon parcel shelf, I have fitted carbon doorcards, and the bonnet and boot are currentlt being made. If someone has a spare front Bumper for a Clubman, then please give me a shout, I'll pay good money for one.

More updates and pics to follow! Scott G

Still can't get these bloody pics on  (At my own computer illiteracy  )

WELL!!!!!!! Thanks To BillB and Nominous(Dave) I now have me B16 head and a UK spec box which runs a cable instead of the speed pulse digary doo

I picked the stuff up last sundy, on what turned out to be an epic adventure from scotland to stockton and back  I wont go into details, but we NEARLY ran out of deisel on the A69  I've never been so glad to see an overpriced Shell filling station at midnight

The head is now seperated from the b16, i'm awaiting the B20 fitting kit and ARP Bolts. I have changed over several parts fron the B16 like the Knock sensor and thermostat etc, and am taking her no further till I'm back in August

On the cosmetics side, I was givin a set of Halogen headlamps for the GT, and on Trial fit, noticed the headlamps were normal mini ones with the sidelight in the unit. This meant the fouled the basket in which they sit. I hand filed the bottom edge of the basket to allow for sidelight clearance, and can now actually make out the road at night  This is also going to be benificial when changing the front panel and broken indicators on the GT as I can now put aftermarket indicators in the front panel without having to worry about the sidelights :D I wish they still made the clubby indicators though :(

Well, I dont leve till the 8th, and with all this spare time, I decided to build the B20 on a trial run,

It went great, I also built another frankenstien engine, a B16a 16v( Non V Tec) I don't know how it would run, but it looks great  My B20Vtec is on the left ans theweirdo b16/16v on the right.

http://194.154.162.19/phpBB2/modules/gallery/albums/bitsofcar/b16no_tec.jpg

basically, what I changed from one unit, I replaced on the other, Dave done a calculation giving comression etc, and it looks like it would still beat an A-Series :?

I have found that, the timing belt covers dont transfer over, so I had to use te B20 bottom, and B16 top 2, this gives a 10mm gap,http://www.16vminiclub.com/gallery/albums/userpics/thumb_Picture%20046.jpg
which is in the centre, not a great problem, but not perfect. I have stayed with the B20 water pump and thermostat for technical reasons( Less complicated )

I am still awaiting my conversion stuff from goldeneagle racing :( but I'm not too bothered.

I Soooooooooooooo want my frame tho...............

Well, thanx to wez (Guy whom PM'd me from Glenrothes) I now have a pretty good front bumper, and a set of over/under riders :D the car looks more complete.

Fitting has been a bit of a pain, as the guy whom had it before me, catty'd the bolt holes, so i had to find them and knock them through

i cant seem to locate the under rider holes yet, but i'll sort somthing :D

The FRAME HAS LANDED

Got my Watsons frame on monday, It's still sitting over at the work, I'll bring it home on thursday

Also have reciently managed to attain;

b18c5 Inlet (Polished)
62mm throttlebody (polished)
ITR cams ( Cheers Mike :D )
Double valve springs
titanium retainers
mugen rocker
Silicone hoses

Had I not purchased all of that, the rest of the kit would be on the car  But it means I'm a hell of a lot closer to having a modestly tuned B20 Vtec

Well, removed the mini's top damper brackets to reveal rust holes  Barsteward!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got a 23k miles Y21 hydraulic clutch box with a BRAND new Exedy Clutch and Pressure plate , I was out till 3am last night doing the gearbox and clutch on my own  I could not get the Y1 off the b16, so I resorted to tipping the whole engine onto the pulley to see what was holding the gearbox in place  turns out it was just the downwards weight on the dowel pins  The box is sorted now, Just need to buy a welding plant and sort the bloody holes out

If it aint one thing its a mutha F**kin other

Was in the scrappies all week ( Every scrappy in central scotland  )

Got a EG Radiator, fan and hoses for £50 from the robbin buggers at Jap Auto's in Glasgow  What a sh*t hole of a scrappy! Managed to Blagg some 340cc Green injectors out a H22A Prelude, and I snaffled the 62mm throttlebody for £20 (Bargan)

The main reason I was there but was to attain a decent hose and air box out a Honda to fit to the mini, I'm trial testing a prelude induction pipe with a Civic's ( Same shape as the Rover 400) air box, I want to see is I can get a setup that improves over the current one I'm using and also most other folks " Straight onto the TB" effort

Well, it's in, but I need to remove a few bits of metal for the alt. It was an absolute pig as I done it myself  When the bay is painted, I'll be enlisting the help of my father to make sure it dont snag ( The VSS was caught on the frame and took AGES to wiggle down past  )

More random pics comming soon :D Scott G

Back to square one  Had to take the unit back out and drop the frame in order to fit the suspension, the frame got misaligned when I took the bolts out for the spring cover plate    FU*K RIGHT OFF!!!! All shall be back in place by tomorrow, supposing I'm out all night  Why didn't I get into IT instead of cars

Well, I'm back ( only for a few weeks, was sent home from sea, long story............................................. ...............................

Today I mocked up the 6 point cage, fired in a seat and shifter, grabbed the steering wheel and went for a spin with the new pup

My parents got her 5 months ago, she's a newfoundland pup, kinda like a ST bernard, but from canada. she weighs 6 stone just now, shoul be 12 fully grown

I may take the Vtec back out and strap her in there lol

Well kiddy-winkles i've been somewhat behind in my conversion to say the least, I think ive been home for a total of 47 days in the past 9 months

I purchased a lot of bits to do the Turbo conversion on the GT, though due to my repatriation on the 1st of January, I had to sell them to get the cash quick to foot the bill  I also STRONGLY reccomend that you do not go anywhere near Savanah, Georgia in the USA :!: They are still well and truly red knecks :!:

Anyway, now that i'm back for a few months, the GT has been the focus of my attentions.

As you lot are aware, I'm doing the Full honda loom and ECU conversion. Over the past few knuckle slicing days, I have managed to fully install a OBD 0 Gen II CRX loom into her.

This may sound a bit crazy, considering that the GT was made first, but I think it was designed with the foresight of having a Vtec loom and engine in there at some point.

I have managed to fit a lot of the Honda Loom components, to what would look like relatively stock locations on the GT shell, Its been bloody hard though, but well worth the effort.

I shall be covering a fully illustrated exposay on how to achieve this wiring conversion to your car, so keep an eye out :D

Holy Shizzle Batman, forgot I had this.

Car still isnt finished, sorting the rear arches ATM to fit some nice 14" Wheels I have sourced.

Front pannel was fitted, was a bit of a real headache. Fabbed a new inner wing to accomodate that grossly oversized rad, which still wont fit lol

Cage is in, but comming back out to fit my nice new interior.

I got a Full newton Commercial interior minus seats for her. The quality is A1 and I am very impressed. I would highly reccomend a newton commercial interior over any other brands! It adds a very luxurios feel to the car, somthing I found was lacking in the previous interior.

Interior includes:

Full 6 point with removable diagonal and brace bars.
2x CRX Seats (yet to be retrimmed, and I shall be fitting a bucket seat for track days.)
Tanaka 4 point harness (Driver only, they are expensive as sin! Looks cool though  )
Black cloth rear seat.
Curleys EVO 2 ASAD Dash
Curleys carbon doorcards
Curleys Carbon Parcel Shelf
Honda S2K Digi Dislay (2003 Model,)
Polished handle set
Newton Leather Headlining
Newton front leather A pillar fininshing strips (down sides of the window 8) )
Full Newton Black moulded carpet set
Newton under felt
Newton leather arch trim
Newton Leather gear gator *
Mugen Gearnob
MOMO steering wheel
Late RSP Steering column and switches

*The leather gear gator is rather large for the honda shifter, and looks odd ATM, I'm usure weather to fit it or not as I'm not 100% on the look of it (Though quality and attention to detail is flawless!)

I purchased a Honda S2000 Digi dash, though it has yet to be sent to get re jigged to run off my wiring. It will be housed in my Curley's EVO 2 ASAD Dash, which I am not impressed with in the slightest.

It has to be one of the most expensive single interior items, though it is of substandard quality. I had to trim it WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY back, it fouls the gear lever ATM, but after more mind numbing trimming, it should be rectified. I does look trick as FCUK though!

It has a big crese in the weave on the centr console, and a slash mark where the display will be, pretty shocking letting work out the door like that. Best bit was, I waited 7-9 weeks on it comming, and had to chase it up a load of times, was lied to on several occasions about it aswell. Its here and nearly fitted though, just quite miffed about the whole thing as you can tell.

I'll try and get some pics taken.

Also, still getting a med CEL on my ECU, its doing my nut big time. Might try and get someone to have a look at her cause I cant read the code. I'm sure its the PGMfi Earth or somthing stupid

Anyway, pics soon mabey, but work is taking 99.99% of my time ATM, so progress is slow ( got a stockpile of bits to fit as you can see, but no time to do it  )
