Hi all,
just coming to the end of my K - series project and was wondering if anyone knows if 185/60/13's will clear the radius arm mountings on the rear? Just the tyres to sort then have to MOT it ( that should be a laugh!!)
Thanks
Gordy

Hi
I got the last picture you mailled me the other day. One day soon I will actually update my site.
I don't think 185/60r13 tyres will clear the radius arms. It works out as an extra 10mm in sidewall height, and certainly that would make the tyres too close on mine (currently 185/55)
I have not actually tried fitting them though, so am prepared to be corrected.

well , i think he should be a member , dont you ?
A guy over here runs 185/60-13s on his ERA but I haven't been close enough to check out the clearance or whether he has modified anything. Next time I see it I'll check but I dont know when that will be :D
Cheers guys for the welcome, I agree that the tyres will be 10mm bigger overall. But will only be 5mm at one given point - i think the only answer here is to bite the bullet and buy one to try it!!!
Also just noticed to the left of my postings it says my subframe's homemade, and as much as I'd like to take the credit for it - it's actually a WATSONS frame - any idea how I change it?
Thanks again

Hi Gordy
185/60/13's will fit I've done it...mine are fitted to some 6x13 Compomotive ps with metro offset, but you have to grind away a bit of the radius arm mounting plate...and you have to hold up the radius arm slightly to fit the wheels...
but the tyres are mega cheap..£22 :D

The side wall height will be 10mm bigger thats 20mm overall.
But yes it sounds like you may have to just try it.. One question though. Why? Apart from the cheap thing
It was just the cheap thing.....but the huge rolling diameter meant better fuel economy...especially on a deseamed car!
But the 250 point turn was a p*sser!

Cheers, my arithmetic was never good. As for why, I was offered a new set of four for £40 - and thats got to be cheap! But I wouldn't have thought it would pass the MOT if the tyres fouled when the car was jacked up? But not sure?
Cheers
Gordy
I just stuck some skanky 12's with passable tyres on it for the MOT!!
Not cheating...just bending the rules...
