BECAUSE ON OURS THE GAP BETWEEN THE MASTER AND THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR CAN BE MEASURED WITH A FEELER GUAGE http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v328/jprminis/lol.gif
MY GUESS IS THAT WE CAN DUMP THE TWIN LINE MASTER AND FIT A SMALLER SINGLE LINE MASTER AND THAT WILL SOLVE THE PROBLEM
BUT WE WOULD STILL LIKE TO KNOW WHAT OTHER METHODS HAVE BEEN EMPLOYED TO STOP THE MASTER HITTING THE TPS ETC.

Hi,
I took them off and fitting R1 carbs instead.
Even with this, I had clearance problem.
So, I went to find suitable pedal box in scrap yard.
I got one from MG Midget, if that is any help.
If you see my build diary, you will see it.
Cheers
Atchi
I retained the standard duel master cylinder but you right about needing a feeler guage to measure the gap.
On the side of the cylinder there is a big lump of cast that serves no purpose. On my conversion this is what was causing the problem so I just ground it off.
Have a look on my gallery, there may be a photo.

ATCHI, JUST CHECKED YOUR BUILD DIARY AND IT'S LOOKIN' GOOD (NOT SURE ABOUT THAT ROOF CHOP THOU)
MOTORCYCLE CARBS IS AN INTERESTING IDEA BUT IT'S NOT FOR US. GOTTA STICK WITH THE STOCK INJECTION SYSTEM AND ECU (PERHAPS CHIPPED)
WE'RE TRYING TO RETAIN AS MUCH STOCK SUZUKI/MINI PARTS AS POSSIBLE COZ WE'RE AIMING TO MAKE MORE THAN ONE OF THESE
YES SEAN, I CAN SEE THE LUMP OF CAST YOU'RE REFERRING TO BUT EVEN WITH THAT REMOVED THE CLEARANCE IS STILL TOO CLOSE FOR MY LIKING
I CAN SEE THAT TPS GETTING DAMAGED WHEN GIVING IT BARRY BIG
BOUGHT A SINGLE LINE MASTER WITH REMOTE RESERVOIR FROM RALLY DESIGNS AND WILL POST PICS WHEN ENGINE GOES BACK IN FOR IT'S NEXT DRY FIT

NEW MASTER CYLINDER IS NOW DRY FITTED BUT WILL HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL SUB IS FULLY BEEFED UP AND FITTED WITH ENGINE TO DOUBLE CHECK CLEARENCE AGAINST TPS BUT LOOKS LIKE IT'S GONNA BE OK

THIS IS DONOR ENGINE OUT OF 1991 MARK 2 GTI. BEHIND ENGINE IS SUB PRE-MODIFICATION
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v328/jprminis/SWIFTMINI_SUB_WORK_IN_PROGRESS.jpg
THAT SUB NOW LOOKS LIKE THIS. IT'S ABOUT 90% DONE, SON. JUST NEEDS SOME PLATES MADE UP TO HOLD LOWER ARMS AND SOME GENERAL BEEFING UP HERE AND THERE ALONG WITH SOME GENERAL COSMETIC WORK
AND COUNT THE ENGINE MOUNTS
ONE IN EACH CORNER
GENTLEMEN: IF YOUR SWIFTMINI ONLY HAS 3 ENGINE MOUNTS WHY ARE YOU STILL ALIVE???

  wtf?
did you have to shorten the push rod and/or space the master cylinder away from the pedal? i have the girling .625 and had to mod it a fair bit to get it to operate properly
