View Full Version : LHD VTEC and brake system
I am in the research stages of putting a VTEC Mini together. I've gathered tons of info (alot of it here :) ) about the car, the motors and subframes. I'm in the US so a frame from Brian Campbell or Ringmini or possibly gomini is in my future. In looking around at pictures, especially at gomini I see the brake master cylinder/servo on the right side of the car with the car being a LHD model. How does this work? :? I have emailed gomini but haven't gotten a response. I know many of you are in the UK and therefore RHD, but I was hoping someone could provide some input.
Here are some pictures of the car in question (the yellow one).

As far as I'm aware what you can see in the photo is the standard Rover LHD servo operating mechanism. Your best bet is to try and source the relevant parts from either a european breaker or phone around the UK specialists and see if anyone can source the setup for you. You'd probably be best trying those who advertise in the Mini Magazines.
Hope that helps

i think you will find that he has a controll bar that comes acrross from the drivers side (passenger if its uk) , like the learner cars have when having dual controlls

After doing more research I see that there are remote servo's as well. Could it be that this is just a remote servo?

No, its the standard Rover setup for LHD !!! Try looking for some pics of left hand drive post '89 Minis, you'll see what I mean !
It is something like what MattG describes..Here`s a link with some good pictures of it: http://www.geocities.com/jharkola/1380turbo5.html
