Probably 205/45's or even 40's - got some on my other car - I often think they're flat just cos there's such a small amount of tyre !!!!
Welcome and Good Luck !!!

Surely you jest

If not you'll need a bigger engine

205*40*17s

iam not one to jest!

the plan is to start with the 1.4mpi then go for 1800/2000cc.

probly will go for a mini cosworth bodykit (might just cover the rubber)

What rear axle setup are you planning on using?

24-02-2004, 03:41 PM
not sure, im tempted to put a front subframe on the rear and have discs and coils all round ?? ?

cross that bridge once the engine is in place.

If your putting a front subby in the rear, you may as well leave the engine in it. Dont blow the chance for 4wd

Lateral thinking, I like that, I applaude you Mr G !!

if i wanted 4x4 mini i would use 2 motorbike engines.

im sure u could get a gearbox out a 4x4 car to fit a k-series, kinda getting out my depth there.

its NOT a simple thing 4x4 , that's why hardly many are done at all .
bike engines have there problems as well .

Its best to just start simple and save all the harder stuff for the next jobs

Thats what I meant. One in the back AS WELL .....

Oh yes and ofcourse there is a 4x4 Kseries Its called the Landrover Freelander. Up the strip it might be a bit slow, but I bet its 0-60 across a field would be reasonable

24-02-2004, 04:22 PM
quality, hardest part in theory would be the transmision tunnel, re-routing exhaust....

freelander diff and clutch etc will all be very heavy....

freelander box, scooby diff at rear... one day......

Back to the topic (ish) I reckon that those wheels would look better on a Clubman estate. The extra bodywork would balence them out a bit.

Come to think of it, the Freelander 4x4 stuff would look better on an estate too!

just give me some time :)

im on a tight budget so im gonna be making my own subframe and mounts and salvaging as much as i can from my metro.
